by epinions1961
Oct 31, 2012 (Not Yet Rated)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Very reliable, somewhat economical, sturdily built.
Cons: Low budget car, no frills, okay city gas mileage.
The Bottom Line: You really can't beat the Versa as a roomy, reliable and economical car for the money.

I bought my 2007 (9/2006) Versa during Labor Day weekend.  Since then--now  Oct 2012--I can say that the naysayers were wrong!!  Consumer Reports complained of the car being underpowered--true, you do need to rev it up. They also ... read more

May 12, 2011 (Not Yet Rated)

Author's Product Rating: 10 Recommended: No

Pros: Design, appearance, and roomy interior
Cons: Low reliability, repeated fuel pump problem
The Bottom Line: I do not recommend taking on the risk of receiving a lemon. Luckily, my Versa has not failed completely as some report...YET!

I purchased a new, 2007 Nissan Versa in July 2007. One month later, I brought the car in after experiencing trouble starting the car. It took at least 5 cranks at a few seconds each to get the engine to turn over. They replaced the fuel pump assembly ... read more

Mar 10, 2010 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Seating space maximized in small exterior. Nicely finished interior. Safety for size. Affordable.
Cons: Thunk over speedbumps. Mileage for size. Not much power for freeway merging or passing.
The Bottom Line: Not for drag racers or show-offs, but a pleasant vehicle of sensible size that devotes most of its space to passenger comfort.

I drove my 1994 Ford Escort station wagon until it died in 2007. With a new baby at home, I had to replace my car pretty quickly. I'd been keeping up with new cars of my preferred size (compact) because I knew old Zoe's (the Ford's) time was near. The ... read more

Oct 26, 2009 (A Somewhat Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Price, Reliability, Headroom
Cons: A little shaky on the highway on windy days.
The Bottom Line: Get the Versa if your looking for an inexpensive car that exceeds the expectations of an inexpensive car. You'll get more than what you paid for.

After test driving the Chevy Cobolt, Toyota Yaris, Honda Fit, Nissan Sentra and Nissan Versa, I went back to Nissan 3 times before finally settling on the Nissan Versa. It pretty much came down to this. "The price is right" The saying is usually "you ... read more

The Near Perfect Commuter Car

by duceditor
Oct 2, 2008 (Not Yet Rated)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Comfort. Quiet. Mileage. Size. Build quality. My dealer (Nissan of Keene).

Cons: The sound of the speakers. The length of the warranty.

The Bottom Line: For a commuter car it is hard to even imagine anything better.

First the one and only negative: The Versa is not a back road lovin', tire squeelin', sport car. Okay, I love those things. But I also acknowledge that cars sometimes need practicality. In my case that means an economical vehicle that allows me to face ... read more

Pros:

Cons:

The Bottom Line: This car is a great ride as long as you don't mind sarificing some power in exchange for better gas mileage!

With the death of my previous car imminent in the near future unless I poured a couple thousand dollars into doing more work, I realized that it was time to purchase a new car. I wanted to find a vehicle that would get the gas mileage that my VW got when ... read more

Versa has great features, but is mediocre at best.

by tcriss
Jul 2, 2008 (A Somewhat Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: No

Pros: Great features for an entry line model.
Cons: Fuel economy not the best.
The Bottom Line: I love the features of the 2007 Nissan Versa SL hatchback, but the fuel economy and other issues would make me think again before purchasing this vehicle.

I purchased my Nissan Versa Hatchback one year ago at a great price, about $18,000CAD for SL package and spoiler. I like the look of the Versa Hatchback, but I love it with the spoiler. The spoiler makes the car look a lot sportier. This car has ... read more

Nissan Versa: Problem Child

Feb 9, 2008 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 20 Recommended: No

Pros: Great ride, sprightly handling, unbelievably roomy, decent mileage, attractive interior
Cons: POOR QUALITY, not that exceptional of mileage
The Bottom Line: If Nissan could get the quality up it would be unbeatable, but as it is you need to look at Honda (Fit) or Toyota (Yaris), or Hyundai (Accent).

So, in April of 2007, my parents purchased a 2007 Nissan Versa S sedan. It is black with an automatic and the power package. The Versa S comes standard with A/C, a 4-speaker stereo with CD, and power mirrors. The Power Package added power windows, locks, ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Style,options,room,smoothness(CVT),Fuel economy,comfort, etc.
Cons: Does not comes with a 260 HP v6 engine like the Maxima.
The Bottom Line: As owner of one i have to recommend it. It is the most equipped in its class. excellent features and options, pricey yes but very enjoyable.

Own a Versa 07 SL Hatchback loaded with all the options available. It had to be ordered and the wait was long, since no dealer had in stock as I wanted it. You name it, it has it. Who needs a Maxima if so much luxury and style can be obtained for ... read more

Bought the "S" model Versa........

by trannyrex
Oct 10, 2007 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Comfort, room, pep, great gas mileage and good sound from a basic factory radio.
Cons: The transmission, the rear shelf rattle, the drivers seat cushions and the side view mirrors.
The Bottom Line: The Tranny problem was unique the rest of the Versa is mostly great, however, I can't recommend this car, due to the unsafe, restricted view from the side mirrors.

I wanted an SL model but there was none available. This model has the 4spd Automatic (overdrive). It, obviously, gets much better mileage than the SL model. (CVT tranny) The lowest mileage I ever measured was 29.5 MPG and I presently average 32 mpg. ... read more

Aug 11, 2007 (A Somewhat Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: The most bells and whistles for the dollars. Plenty of front AND rear leg room.
Cons: Not a lot of accessories available.
The Bottom Line: I have never been so pleased with a vehicle purchase before, and I've had BMW, SAAB, Honda and Toyota's. I recommend this car.

I went on a low Carbon diet and sold the 2007 Pilot, I felt irresponsible and guilty taking it to go get milk in this day and age of global warming and out of control gas prices. So I ordered a Volvo C30 T5 for over $50,000 -- the dealership screwed the ... read more

Cons: ABS hard to find, mpg, no "fold-flat" rear seats, GPS or leather available
The Bottom Line: Great everyday car, comfortable and very roomy for small car

2007 Nissan Versa is the USA version of the Nissan Tiida available overseas for 3 years so the car has a track record. Interior space is huge for its size, so much so that the EPA website lists the car as a midsize because they rate cars based on ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Roomy, comfortable! Great gas mileage. Outstanding seats.
Cons: Kinda ugly at first glance (although it grows on you...)
The Bottom Line: Honda? What Honda? Great car, low price, unbelievable seats and interior room.

When I made the painful decision that I needed a small, fuel efficient car, I went to the big three first. But it became evident that they are not serious about the segment, and offer nothing that is remotely competitive in quality or pricing to the ... read more

May 21, 2007 - Updated Jul 7, 2007 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Small and Fuel Efficient, it is car that makes OPEC cry. Excellent safety features.
Cons: Loud engine noise above 4,000 RPM. So-so sound system. OEM tires very unsatisfactory.
The Bottom Line: Have a gas hog but need cargo space when needed? Versa hatchback fits the bill.

There is no mistaking for what the Versa is and that of being a compact car which has an eye on soothing the wallet when it comes to high gas prices but the insurance bill too. The Versa I have is equipped with the CVT or Constant Velocity ... read more

The Bottom Line: Really good car for a subcompact. The gas mileage is awesome.

The Bottom Line: very good value, need to

The Versa hatch is a good fit for our family, size is perfect , I'm 6ft and 250lb and fit in the back seat extremely comfortably. We do not have to fall in the car or ask for a leg up to get out of it, the ride height is perfect. The price point , fuel ... read more

Good deal by Nissan

by wildkard58
Nov 8, 2006 (A Somewhat Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Good bang for your buck. An excellent choice if you are looking for a subcompact.
Cons: Styling is not for all. Not the funnest of the subcompacts to drive.
The Bottom Line: Good bang for your buck. Compared to it's competition, the Versa's price point, bigger engine, bigger interior and cargo space makes it a good bet.

Everyone already knows about high gas prices and the emergence of subcompact cars. For the young crowd, some subcompacts can be tuned and outfitted to look way cool and go fast. The Versa may not necessarily fit this billing. However, if you are ... read more

Pros: Steering wheel controls, gas-sipping motor, luxury ride, and factory sub in the trunk.
Cons: Boxy-looking Nissan front end, no pearl metallic paint choices, currently limited stock.
The Bottom Line: The wait is over, the Versa is all good.

With High Gas prices showing no signs of the oil companies being satisfied with their billion dollar profits, reduced fuel consumption is the only way one can fight back. The problem has been that with fuel efficient cars the trade- offs are worse than ... read more
