Pros: Powerful engine, great looks, Toyota reliability Cons: Expensive, mediocre seat that doesn't recline The Bottom Line: The best built small truck you can buy, but pricey for what you get.
I wrote a review earlier about the Ford Ranger, which was the top of my list for a cheap, compact truck before I decided to buy a full-sized pickup instead. The only other compact truck that I bothered to look at, and coincidentally the only other truck ...

Pros: styling, reliability, refinement, fuel economy, safety, resale value Cons: Handling not as sporty as I prefer, a little numb feeling, smallish bed The Bottom Line: Not for heavy duty work use, or as a family hauler, but great for singles and couples who need a truck sometimes and want a refined vehicle

Pros: Reliable, fast, practical, and extremely fun to drive. Cons: Weak tie-down system. The Bottom Line: If you want a truck that you will use as truck, buy the tacoma. It is tough, looks cool, and a blast to drive.

Pros: Power, size, versatility, mileage, great looks, and after market support. Cons: Toyota thinks lemons don't exist, they blame you for their vehicle breaking down. The Bottom Line: I really don't know if I will ever purchase another Toyota because of the hassle the dealer has given me.
PLEASE READ THIS WHOLE REVIEW BEFORE BUYING! When looking for a new vehicle I wanted the ruggedness for off road as well as a great looking daily driver. The Tacoma with its decent gas mileage fell into both categories. I went with the V6 Double Cab ...

Pros: I get lots of compliments how nice my truck looks Cons: I tell them it is a piece of crap
Toyota has built a great reputation. Now they appear to be taking the profits. I have taken my truck into the shop at least 6 times. And I notice the service is swamped. They are not used to so many Toyotas being brought back in for repairs. This makes for very poor service. My fiance has a new Camry and it too has problems with poor quality. I will definately consider something other than Toyota next purchase. Once a die hard Toyota enthusiast, now bitterly disappointed at the shoddy assembly.
