2007 Yamaha V Star 1300 Tourer

by flipnotica , Dec 02 '06
Pros: Fuel injected and liquid cooled. Belt driven.
Cons: No tachometer or fuel gauge.
On 11/20/2006, I traded my 2005 V Star 650 Classic in for Yamaha's brand new 2007 Yamaha V Star 1300 Tourer. This is the bike's first year in production. I chose Raven for the color. Normally I would wait a year or two before buying the 1st year ...

Great bike for late beginner and early advanced rider

by dperique , Nov 01 '08
Pros: Excellent handling for a cruiser, relatively light in its class, good amount of power, smoooth
Cons: Stock exhaust too quiet, low speed surge, handlebars too far forward, windshield too tall
In this review, I will try to touch on things that other reviewers have not touched on.  You can certainly go off and read specifications so I won't repeat those here.I've had this bike almost a year now.  I have the 2007 Vstar 1300 Tourer. ...

Yamaha VStar 1300- wow!

by rockyrides , Sep 29 '08
Pros: Ergonomics, power, and balance. Fuel injection and belt drive. Versatile big cruiser for great price.
Cons: No gas gauge or tach. Slight engine surge at low speed.
My new 2007 VS 1300 (non Tourer) is a great bike; and as my Harley riding neighbor put it, it's like getting a Fat Boy at less than half the price! I only have 375 miles on it now, but already I'm pleased in nearly all respects. I've added the following ...

Amazingly nimble cruising tourer

by pick126 , Nov 15 '06
Pros: Liquid cooled, fuel injected, belt drive, tubeless tires
Cons: Periodic valve checks required, low stock handlebar
My riding has evolved into a mix of touring along with my daily commute. I was looking for a bike with the characteristics of a sport tourer but which fit my height challenged frame. The VStar 1300 is fuel injected which is a definite plus for fuel ...

Excellent all around bike.

by touring8081 , Apr 14 '07
Pros: -Fuel Injected -Liquid Cooled -Belt Driven -Well-Balanced
Cons: None yet
I recently purchased the 2007 V-star 1300 Tourer. It came standard with the leather-wrapped saddlebags, windshield, and passenger backrest. The only other accessories I put on were passenger floorboards and a luggage rack. The aspect that surprised ...

2007 V-Star

by george2037 , Apr 02 '07
Pros: Comfort, Power, Style
Cons: Floor Boards, Handle bar placement, 200 miles per tank
Just bought this 2 days ago, it's the first bike I've ridden in 8 yrs. Although I don't highly recommend going with such a large bike the first time around, it's pretty easy to get used to. With some practice it should be fairly easy to avoid the ...

2007 V Star 1300 IRRITATING EXPERIENCE

by dudeeee , Jul 03 '07
Pros: Rides good and looks good. sets good. lite enough for me.
Cons: Irritating; engine misfire, windshield turbulence, transmission noise, customer service. Overall an irritating experience.
Irritating is the best word to describe this experience without resorting to curse words. For the price this is a nice/irritating motorcycle but If I had it to do over I would not buy it and definitely not buy the ...

My first 300 Miles on the VStar 1300

by sltpkirkland , Jul 16 '07
Pros: Great seat and rear ride, POWER, MPG!!
Cons: Exhaust, jerky in 3/4 gear.
Went from a 99 Suzuki Marauder to this. Overall a nice ride. The bike has a great look. I did buy it to go touring on weekend trips. The total allowed carry weight for bike is about 475 pounds, and each saddle bag can carry only 11 pounds. I am about 240 ...

Runs like a Yamaha...

by antispoofing , Jan 08 '09
Pros: MPG - 50
Style
Balance
Cons: Maintenance if you have it done, it is high, a bit.  Be prepared.
6000 miles in 5 months. I am primarily a commuter, so I have my fair balance of stop and go, mid-speed (35~55) and interstate travelling. I am not out to win the Iron Butt - I also have no axe to grind. Here is what I think. I think I like the style. ...

Pros: Smooth ride, Power, water-cooled, locking saddlebags, belt driven.
Cons: No Tach, No Gas gauge, no passanger floor boards.

PROBLEM PROBLEM PROBLEM

by sdbellomy , Aug 19 '07
Pros: Good looks, nice handling, nice price, good specs. Medium length rides are fun.
Cons: Unresolved problem (see review), tricky throttle control. I'm short and need custom handle bars.
I would love my new v star 1300 except that it has a bug in the motor or transmission which causes it to vibrate or rub at low speed. Factory, according to dealer "Snake River Yamaha of Boise" says they are aware of the problem but I should go ahead and ...

Just finished a 2000 mile trip on my V Star 1300 Tourer. Wow!

by misterwhitt , Apr 19 '07
Pros: comfortable ride; low seat height; gearing just right; easy handling; beautiful styling.
Cons: A couple inches more pullback in the handlebars would be just right.
I purchased my V Star 1300 Tourer in black a couple months ago. After the 1000 mile break in period, I left Greenville, Mississippi headed for Chattanooga, Tennessee, then on to Kingsport (on the Virginia line) and back, with a lot of detours in between ...

New Rider, New Bike

by eymok , Aug 19 '08
Pros: easy take off, cornering, stopping - once rolling the bike floats !!!
Cons: stock seat, stock handlebars, dealership post sale service
I am a 51 year old female who has just recently learned to ride (on a 650 V star). Once I passed the road test I moved up to the 2007 V star 1300. I was afraid of it at first, but have fallen in love with except for 2 things; the seat and the ...

07 Yamaha vstar 1300 awsome awsome bike
by kensmith1964 ,Jul 09 '09
Pros: EFI comfort style power clock feel handling
Cons: quiet
rides like a cadilac. almost drives itself. corners like a dream, huge comfy seat that you melt into. pipes are little too quiet for me but everything else is a dream. low handlebars that are bent towards you in rounded fashion for easy handling with out arms getting tired. it dont have fuel gadge but it does have low fuel light. it also has 2 trip meters and a clock on speedometer. the clock is awsome. EFI (no cold natured choak bike) overhead cam, I would think anyone would be happy with this bike!!
