Pros: Fuel Economy, price, 8" clearance, tons head /legroom, powerful, agile and fun! Great stereo too. Cons: Interior is a bit heavy on the plastic. The Bottom Line: This vehicle does everything it was designed to do, and superbly, besting most if not all in-class vehicles.
*Firstly, since I saw that there are no other reviews, I wanted to get a review in ASAP. This is such a great car, it has turned me into a Forester evangelist! However, I can be critical where I think improvements can be made. I will ...

Pros: Superb "small" SUV. Safe and secure transportation with plenty of room for cargo and passengers. Cons: Heated seat controls could be located a bit better. My only criticism. The Bottom Line: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Super safe vehicle at an affordable price. Comfortable and fun, as well.
Okay, I admit it. I am a Subaru fanatic! This is my seventh Subaru, not including the Outback Sedan that my son purchased on his own.For the record, my Subaru history follows:1995 Subaru Legacy L1998 Subaru Legacy GT ...

Pros: Great gas mileage. Cons: Could use more trunk space. The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone who has children and wants a car with good gas mileage.
I purchased the 2009 Subaru Forester in September of 2008, when my Nissan Altima was totaled. I was in the Nissan with my son who was just over a year old at the time, and because of that, safety was my number one priority. I have always ...

Pros: Big, comfortable interior, good ride, reasonable mileage w/4WD. Cons: 4 cylinder is inadequate for regular highway use. The Bottom Line: Good in-town car, not a highway cruiser.
This is a review based on a weekend (and about 300 miles) of combined city and highway driving of a base-model Forester with the 4 cylinder engine. The first thing that surprises you about the Forester is how big it actually is inside. This ...

Pros: More stylish, roomier, quieter, smoother Cons: Less distinctive, and less fun to drive than before The Bottom Line: Roomier and more stylish before. But also much less distinctive. A good choice for anyone seeking a compact SUV, but little to excite.
I first drove the Subaru Forester five years ago, and discovered a vehicle like no other. The exterior was compact, and so was the rear seat. But the seating position was moderately high, and the roof even higher, for excellent headroom and visibility. ...

So-So 2009 Subaru Forester

Pros: Attractive exterior OK mileage Easy to drive Great safety features Cons: Not much space for an SUV Tacky interior
This is certainly not a car for those who want luxury. It serves us well in town and OK on the highway. Maybe I got spoiled driving a Toyota for 15 years, and this is sure no Toyota. It's easy to drive and gets OK gas mileage, but I question the quality. I took it in twice when it was brand new to fix a faulty Bluetooth and a rattle in the dash. The service manager told me that dash rattles would be an issue "until they fix the cheesy way the clock is mounted". Not much of a vote of confidence. The interior has entirely too much cheap, easily scratched plastic. Now there is a catalytic converter recall out. All in all, it's an OK car, but I'm glad it is paid off so I can trade in a year or so.
