Pros: A shell-shocking assault of uncompromising rock and sublime techno vibes. Cons: Some songs don't click, but they are thankfully infrequent.
Many would find it difficult to believe that merciless, raging hard rock music mixed with sporadic, catchy techno beats and synthesizers could be legitimately impressive. Its only natural to assume that such a combination could only end in disaster. ...

Pros: Amazingly strong album filled out very well. Cons: Stays maybe a little too consistent.
When I first heard the single Capricorn [A Brand New Name], I had no idea who Jared Leto was. Sure, yes, I'd seen movies with him in them (and I owned Fight Club), but I'd never stopped to find out his name.
I don't often listen to the radio....

Pros: Musically, some of the most complex, layered stuff ever written Cons: The best tracks are stacked at the beginning
Fans of simplistic power chords and 1-4-5 structures will find little to please them here. This is an album for those of us who like our music to be, well, musical. Plain and simple, this album is so densely packed musically. Most songs have at least ...

Pros: Holds a high standard throughout entire album. Unique songwriting'n sound. Jared does a good job. Cons: Jared could be just messing around lyrically, and most songs has the same pace.
"Capricorn" was the first song I heard by Thirty Seconds to Mars, and although I wasn't blow away or really payed any serious attention, their name still got stuck in the back of my mind, and I remember thinking that they probably named every song after ...

Pros: Great vocals and Techo beats, Cacthy Lyrics Cons: Repetitive, Some lyrics don't retain any meaning
30STM's debut CD is busting at the seams with mean guitar riffs but is also entwined with techno beats and sound effects. Anyone that enjoys techno or rock will surely take delight in this album. However the album also has some draw backs, most songs...

Pros: Good lead vocals from Leto, interesting guitar playing, nice use of keyboards and electronic drums Cons: Not enough variety. The songs start to sound the same near the end.
I think these guys showed up at a good time.
In an era when every mainstream band is either mad at their dads (Staind, Linkin Park) or refusing to grow up (Good Charlotte, New Found Glory), 30STM are proof positive that heavy music need not...

Pros: deep lyrics. Great lead vocals. Cons: nothing really sets each song apart.
What do you get when you combine queensryche,Tool Alice in chains and Incubus? 30 seconds to Mars. Don't believe me?Read on.
I saw this cd in a special section reserved for up and coming bands and it looked interesting. I...

Pros: Good blend of Alt-Rock, Industrial and 80s sensibility Cons: Tracks do sound similar
Yes, I could wish all day that 30 Seconds To Mars became popular, because their debut album is precisely the kick in the rear, that the modern rock scene desperately needs. I'll admit that I do not like where we stand in the modern music scene,...

Pros: This is a stellar, epic album that everyone can enjoy... Cons: These guys are not getting enough recognition...
30 Seconds To Mars combine heavy guitars with soaring vocals and smooth synths to create a sound that their name defines so well. With a sound similar to Deadsy, 30 Seconds To Mars burst onto the scene in late 2002. It's just too bad that they aren't...

Pros: heavy organic sound mixture that blends rock elements with synth to create a masterpiece Cons: album as a whole can seem a bit homogenous
CA band comprised of Jared and Shannon Leto. This is the debut album which was tri-produced. the letos, Bob Ezrin (pink floyd), and Brian Virtue(jane's addiction). Before the project even began it was destined to be a mixture of ideas and elements of...

Pros: A new sound, easy to hear, deep thought provoking lyrics Cons: it's a little too mysterious
While watching MTV2 the other day, 30 Seconds To Mars came on with Capricorn(Brand New Name). I had seen ads for the CD, but it wasn't until I watched the video that I realized that the lead singer is Jared Leto. Starring in such movies as...

Where Did These Guys Come From!
by tommy23mac ,Oct 24 '03
Pros: - Innovation
- Lyrics
- Developing Cons: None
I have no idea where this band came from but they have an ability to impress just about anyone. This album rocks from the first riff to the last and refuses to stop. I love how this album almost sounds as if you are in outer space and take you on a trip you will never forget. Echelon, Oblivion, 93 Million Miles I cannot say anything more. I recommend to just about anyone.

Thirty Seconds ROCKS!!!!!
by tamasgirl ,Aug 16 '05
Pros: They have a completely original sound that sets them apart from everything mainsteam. Cons: The only bad thing, is that I have only heard them on the radio twice.
The first CD that they came out with was awesome. I was looking for something different, original. That is exactly what I found. They have a unique sound that combines rock and electronic in a way that is all their own. Trust me, get in on them now. They will be big!
I cannot wait for their next album!!
