Don't be fooled by the 70 watts of power.

by IP3LIVE , Sep 28 '01
Pros: A bang for your buck high current amplifier!
Cons: The remote is better used for bait while fishing. Denon fire the remote designer.
I spent quality time listening to the Denon AVR-1801, Onkyo TXDS494, and the Sony STR-DE675 A/V Receivers. Sony has 27 sound fields. Why? Onkyo's sound becomes very distorted about 3/4 way to it's peak power (55 watts). Hands down the Denon is the...

Pros: Great sound quality
Cons: The remote control is awful

by tvlawyer , Jun 20 '01
Pros: The money you'll spend on a Denon pays for quality, not quantity.
Cons: The remote control! What were they thinking?
After countless, sleepless nights on the net, I narrowed my search for a mid-priced A/V receiver to the Denon, the Onkyo TXDS-595 and the Yamaha RX-V620. After many more hours listening to each of them, I went with the Denon. I couldn't be happier....
