by meanbeast , Feb 14 '00
Pros: 40 sec EASS, 3-step battery, backlighting
Cons: couldn't find any
I am a runner, and one day I finally got sick of listening to horrible sounded tapes as I run. I knew I needed a CD player that not only has a high anti-shock, but was also very durable.

I found this in the Aiwa XP-V70. It's 40 second shock...

Cons: to be determined, but so far I haven't found any
While generally a plane-person, I decided I would experiment with travel options and take a train from New York City all the way upstate. Thrilled at the prospect of staying attached to the ground, I wondered about everything I would see and experience...

21 hours? Yeah, right.

by hoborocks , Jan 06 '01
Pros: Lightweight, takes a lot of jostling to skip, three skip-protection settings, plays pretty much any CD (Recordable, normal, NOT ReWriteable), two high bass settings, Program and random (even programs that play randomly!), HOLD button for those violent car
Cons: Slow seek time, occasionally stops playing songs (totally randomly), VERY short battery life, bass setting (DSL) makes certain songs sound crummy, won't play CD-RWs, Hold button is more loose than other players, bland gray color, changing skip-protection l
Well, there I was. Happy with my old, heavy, easily broken, 8-year old CD player. This early Sony model skipped very easily, and was very bulky and non-portable. Then one day, IT STOPPED WORKING! I took it apart and it was a great learning...

A Better Choice than Any MP3 player~Heres why.

by Gostfacee , Apr 23 '00
Pros: Slim(fits in some of my pockets),Car adapter,LONG 21-hour battery life, Good price compared to similar products.Plenty of Skip protection(40 sec)
Cons: Some people may be discouraged by the lack of digital optical link (to minidisc). There will be some subtle scratches on the cover during the course of usage.
NOTE: This Review refers to the XP-V706C..The same Cd player, but supplied with a carkit~~)

Now, in midst of the wave of Minidiscs and portable MP3 players, my friends actually laughed at me when I told them I purchased a Cd player.

I searched high and low for a CD player that I could use in my car, at the gym, and on a bus before deciding on the XP-V70. I chose it mainly because of the car kit and 40 second shock protection. I also liked the easy-to-memorize buttons, which are...
