Pros: Cheap, reliable, front inputs, remote, lots of features Cons: Mono sound
The Panasonic PV-V4021 is a 4-head Mono VCR, that doesn’t have Hi-Fi stereo sound and costs $65. But don’t be discouraged by the low price – aside from absence of stereo sound, this VCR doesn’t skip on features or picture quality.
Pros: price, quality, remote Cons: eject on remote, sound
Last Christmas we were looking for a TV and VCR for my oldest sons bedroom. I first considered a TV/VCR combo but strayed away from them when some people I knew had problems with combo’s they owned. I then came across the Panasonic PV-V4021 VCR....
Pros: Low cost. Simple controls on unit. Intuitive menu. Cons: Low durability. Remote control buttons are not shaped or placed well.
Perhaps it was my 3-1/2 year-old son constantly rewinding his Barney tapes that caused abnormal wear and tear, but even with this amount of use I would expect a cheap VCR to last a few months at least.
Pros: Great buy for the money, reliable, and holds up to abuse from small children. Cons: None that I have found.
This VCR is about the best for the price I have come across. If you have young children who love to watch Blue's Clues, Sesame Street, or Disney movies over and over again, this VCR is the one for you. My kids run it at least 10 hours a day, everyday. We have had this VCR for over a year, and other than regular head cleaning, we have not had to do anything at all to it.
