Pros: Beautifully balanced camera. Excellent quality, clarity and color definition. Superb optics. Cons: A little pricey compared to some of the competition.
In the ever growing, competitive world of digital camcorders, where each company is packing their cameras with a plethora of features, all in hopes of catching your eye (and hopefully your hard-earned money), the hardest part about purchasing one of...
Pros: Progressive Scan!! Optics suitable for a television camera. Great color reproduction! A solid feel! Cons: Limited low light capability. Bottom of cam feels slightly warm while shooting in hot weather.
Walk into your favorite electronics store and you will probably see the usual array of tv's, stereo equipment, computers, cameras and...camcorders! So you stroll on over to them only to find they are arranged according to price. First, you look at ...
Pros: High quality of video and sound, progressive scanning, full-function digital camera, large and bright LCD-screen Cons: Cassette is loading from below, uncomfortable switch "record/view", too high price
This digital video camera has presented by JVC in 2001. GR-DV2000 ensures perfect quality of video recording (resolution 576x520 television lines) and photo shooting (up to 1600x1200 pixels, that is 1920 thousands pixels).
Pros: ProgScan, great pic quality, featured, manual-mode capabilities, low-light quality, tele-zoom. Cons: Price, poor hi-res stills, slow focusing in low-light.
The positives:
This is an excellent 1ccd cam. For those intending to use this as a point-and-shoot camera, forget about it. It is designed for people with an understanding in photo/cinematography, therefore the automatic mode is of...
Pros: Comfortable feel, great pics, easy computer interface Cons: Sluggish focus in low light. Hate the power switch
I really have very little bad to say about this camera, so I'll get that out of the way first. The power button is a royal pain in the behind. Now, you don't have to use it all the time, and if you are shooting on and off, just keep the LCD closed, and...
Pros: Picture Quality, Features, Lens Cover Cons: 'Jack Box', Menu System, No Flash
I've had my DV2000 for over one month now and I have to say that I'm thoroughly impressed. I purchased this camera while anticipating the birth of my first child and I was most concerned about quality. I did extensive research about the various...
Pros: Picture & color is great but no better than my GR-DVL500u. Cons: Connector Box and bottom loading
JVC invented VHS but the digital age is here. A quote from Hoover’s Online "From Victor Company of Japan (JVC) come such spoils as VCRs, TVs, and home and car stereos. The consumer electronics maker's other products include CDs, DVDs, videotapes, and...
Pros: Progressive Scan, Good resolution, large viewing screen Cons: svideo jack requires removal of battery, battery lasts 30 minutes using the viewing screen
I've had the DV2000 for around a month now, and I love the thing. I've used it for several different events already, using Firewire to import into Premiere for editing and then burning to DVD or writing back to tape.
Pros: easy to use Cons: quality of colours, especially on the still pics
I purchased this camera when my daughter was born 10 months ago and I was seduced by the fact that I could use it as a still camera as well. We live in Australia and our families are in Japan and France.
We started using the camera and immediately...
Pros: Size,prog scan,easy setup,batt life,auto focus,long feature list,audio Cons: Very poor video dynamic range
This could a wonderful camera with a long feature list. The autofocus ranges from a fraction of an inch to infinity. The setup interface for its many great features is intuitive and remarkably easy to use. The extended duty batteries I bought give very...
This has been a wonderful camcorder for me. Yes, it takes getting used to but the camera delivers in spades. It is great! I am a professional and teach digital all over the world. This camera has been operationally great and maintenance free for me.
1. The lock button in the power switch is too small to push.
2. The “Manual Focus” ring on DV2000 is not a real manual focus but instead it is an adjustment ring for it’s electronic focus.
3. It advertises a 52 mm lens filter. The lens is not 52mm it is 38mm. Lowering light gathering.
4. The built in lens cap doesn’t keep dust off the UV Haze filter.
5. The same old menu flipping for White Balance.
6. Iris control is multi-step.
7. Left handed menu wheel is very difficult.
8. Have to reset the MultiMedia card in its slot often.
9. I want to assemble edit with the DVL500 & DV2000, which would work with a different brand of camcorder. Per the DV2000 manual, page 59. –If the remote control is used when both the player and recorder are JVC video units, both units will perform the same function. To prevent this from happening press the buttons on both units. (HUH?)
10. The tape door opening on the bottom of the DVL2000, makes it impossible to change tape on tripod.
