Pros: Ultra-compact size, high-end features, good range, blinking ON light, weather channels Cons: Hard-to-press buttons, loud background noise, PTT button placement, Lock feature locks volume controls
On paper, this radio looks like a sure winner. It sports a load of useful, high-end features from voice scrambling to weather channels to a range indicator, and its diminutive size makes it an absolute pleasure to handle. But in everyday use, the...

Pros: Long battery life (AAs), feature packed, hard mount antenna Cons: Buttons too close, antenna does not recess
Lets face it, today we can communicate more efficiently than any other species on Earth. And yet, we find ourselves isolated from one another due to distance, crowds, noise and a number of other items.
Pros: good range, audio loud and clear, good mic pickup, small Cons: small and difficult to press buttons, PTT in the middle, no vibrate
've just received my pair of Motorola last monday and have been playing with them since. My first impression of them was they're so small! Although I haven't held many FRSes, they are definitely much smaller than the Motorola FR60, the blue GE...
Pros: Great looking, Superior range and features. Cons: Batteries could last longer but...Didn't like flimsy belt clip.
This is like my 8th FRS. I've tried many, many brands..and upon coming to E-pinions and reading your own reviews..I learned some things from people about the Motorola.
In my humble
opinion..it isn't worth it to get the bargain brands of...
Pros: Lots of features, looks good, good performance, rugged. Cons: Buttons can be hard to press.
I've been looking for a decent FRS radio for a while and finally settled on the T6220 because 1) It’s a Motorola and everyone I know has an FRS owns a Motorola. 2) It's currently the highest featured FRS before their more expensive T6300 line.

Pros: Lots of Features, Small Size, Rugged Cons: Buttons can be difficult to press
I recently had the desire to purchase a 2-way radio so I decided to check out Epinions to see what would be a good brand to choose from since there are so many on the market today. Motorola seemed to be the popular choice so I narrowed my choices down to...
I purchased a pair of Cobra FRS104's w/ charger for a recent trip to wine country and was completely disappointed. The range was pathetic, and worse - the channel button had no lock and was easy to accidentally bump. Cobra customer service was no help - fortunately Lowe's has great customer service and exchanged them-even without a receipt-for a pair of Motorola T6220's and WOW! I whole-heartedly recommed these! Less than $30 per radio and you get scan, weather, privacy channels, lockable face plate, decent battery life and EXCELLENT range-even in the city. In my opinion, this is THE buy for FRS radios, unless you need a greater range than 2 miles. The talk button should have been on the side, but you get used to the frontal location very quickly and it's a moot issue.
The radio is of small size and light weight and is easily carried in a shirt pocket or on your belt and it's sturdy enough to be dropped and hit and still work fine. I bought the radio to use on a ski trip and when I play paintball. I live in Tornado Alley and believed the automatic NOAA activation would be an assest when we're outside away from a radio or TV. I have found that living in a rural area means that unless you are on high ground the NOAA may not reach you. I also have not been able to find a headset that will work with the radio to use the VOX handsfree system. None of the stores I have been to, in a metropolitan midwest city, carry the headset and I have tried other brands with a 2.5mm jack, but with no sucess.
