Pros: Looks good and I like the Green Lights. Cons: Power handling is horrible.
This sub is one of the best looking I have ever seen and I love the green lights that light up when it's on and the red light when it's off. That's the only good thing about the sub. It sounds good at very low volumes but once you crank it up it cracks...
Pros: Movies, Price, Great Sound. Cons: Music, amp heats fast
When i first got this subwoofer, I thought it was pretty easy to install. I hooked it up to my reciever and then hooked up the sub cable. I tuned the sub (crossover frequency and volume). When I first powered it up, I listened to Usher's Yeah track 2 on ...
Pros: Solid power, well-made, good warranty (though you probably won't need it). Cons: None, unless you factor in price (see notes)
I won't bore you w/all the TECHNOBABBLE. You can get that from the JBL website. I will tell you how well this sub works w/the rest of my system.
I bought this sub as part of my home theatre. I married it to a pair of JBL S38 bookshelfs and...
Pros: durable (subwoofer that is), great sound Cons: price, ease of use, setup
I have owned this subwoofer for two years now and I have mixed feelings on it. It is very large so it takes up a lot of space and the speaker terminals broke very quickly (within 3 months). I also hate that the loudness has to manually controlled so ...
Pros: Looks nice Cons: Has week sound, week power, expensive for what you get.
I was so geeked to get my new PB-10 that i could hardly wait to set it up. Well to my surprise, my sub woofer hooked up to my pc sounded ten times better. I'm not kidding. I tweaked my system for at least an hour and to no avail, I was disapointed. To...
I bought this sub because I was so impressed by the JBL S-Center that I purchased a few months before. Was looking at the PB12 but price was too much (I believe around $600 CAN)so I talked the salesman down to $350 CAN for the PB10. My system is in a medium sized room and 10" seems to be all the base I need. A good test on the sub in the depth charge scene in U-571. The volume is set just over half way on the sub and the base sounds superb. Other review boards have mentioned that there is a light hum that comes from it but this is not the case with mine. I have the sub on carpet and have read that the base is sharper if you put it on a piece of tile, so I will try that and see what affect it has.
Not real sure what Cnb2606... by terryb_dt3001 ,Mar 05 '03
Not real sure what Cnb2606 from Georgia is talking about. They must be confused this product is a Sub and does not have horns or tweeters. So now that, that is cleared up. This is a great little compact sub. It has ample power for a sub this size. Produces good rock solid bass, not mushy boomy bass. Sound is well defined. This replaces a 12" BIC sub, which gave up the ghost, the amp went out. This sub compliments BIC Front, Center, Front Surouunds and NHT Rear Surrounds in a 7.1 setup. It provides adequte bass even with the most demanding movies. However if you have a very large room it may not be enough to rattle the door jambs, but for small to mid size rooms it should be more than enough. But I must warn you I am a little partial to JBL Products, I own a pair of 4311 Studio Monitors and a pair of L 19's I purchased in 1978. They have been around while and JBL has been around a while. Another plus the 5 Year warranty.
I found this subwofer at a good price at central digital. I added this sub to a shelf stereo system with surround sound in my living room. This sub shakes the living room with movies (top gun) and with rap music. Only down is metal (pantera) music gets a little muddy at higher volume
Using my RF3II with Denon... by cnb2606_dt3000 ,Feb 12 '03
Using my RF3II with Denon 3803. The whole setup works great.
Need to have a good sub to work with theses speakers. Though I have found that my speakers are broken in. The bass response from the speakers itself have improved a bit. But sub is still a must for movies and music.
So far I have found that RF3s are more a HT speakers then music. But I watch TV or moveis 80% of times so doesn't matter to me.
