Pros: Cheap, widely available, good sound for the price, acoustic suspension Cons: A little flimsy, spring clips
A Little Background
There were actually two sets of these speakers purchased for this particular application, one set for the front, one set for the rear. The receiver they are running of is a Sony STR-DE805G with signals...
Pros: Nice sound! Low price! Better than NS-A738. Cons: ??????!!!!
As I recently reviewed Yamaha's A738 speaker system which is almost identical to the 6390, many of my remarks will be the same ...BUT WITH SOME MAJOR DIFFERENCES!!!
The Yamaha NS-6390 speaker consists of an 8" woofer, a 4" midrange and a 1...
Pros: Great range of sound. 140 watts handling. Under $50.00ea Cons: Nothing unless you don't like deep authentic bass reproduction.
The search for a truly affordable high performance bookshelf speaker stops here. Yamaha for its fifth or so year in a row has dominated the industry with its 8" 3 way. The 6390 is new this year with stylish gray cones and a more defined box. A 3-way...
Pros: Great price and sound Cons: they're kinda bulky and lightweight
I purchased these Yamaha 6390 speakers as an upgrade to my Yamaha "out-of-the-box" surround sound system. I was looking for an inexpensive way to improve the sound quality of my surround sound system, so I purchased a good Yamaha center channel speaker...
These Yamaha three-ways deliver remarkable performance for the super-low price tag. While none of the drivers is exactly perfect, the overall speaker architecture is well conceived and delivers a surprisingly good sound in such a cheap, mass market...
Pros: Super good looks, great sound and unbelievable price Cons: None really, post bindings would be nice. A REAR TUNED-PORT
INTRO:
I have owned these for about 7 months now and during that time I have had the opportunity to test them under 2 channel home theater aps (with samsung DVD player and JVC stereo receiver) as well as Stereo from CD sources and PC MP3's. I payed...

Pros: Great price, sound, sensitivity and dependability Cons: None at this price
These speakers are wonderful. Cheap, indestructible and sound great. I have really pushed these speakers to the max and they still sound great. They have great bass and have high sensitively rating so they can get louder with less power. They're also small so you can place them almost anywhere you want. I also like how the center of the woofer is curved in instead of out because they always seem to get pushed in after time. Worth your every dollar!
Great Sound Just Work With Them. by weiner1988 ,May 16 '06
Pros: Great bass Mids And Highs! Excellent sound! Cons: At this price. NONE!
Ok If you get a high power recever or amp you will love these. the 8 in woffer is great for deep bass all you need to do is open it up and add some insulation! Once youve done that they sound so good. im running them through a marantz 2230 recever from 74 and i love them. i also have to say the tweeters are so good every detail of a song comes out right at me,but lets not forget the 4in mid wich is also great for voice clearity. Bottom line just add insulation for a great bookshelf speaker!
If I could only find a frequency response graph of how these speakers perform, I may use them as temporary studio monitors for a recording I'm working on. I love them!
