Value for money!

by nsmith_nz , Apr 21 '02
Pros: Great price, great sound.
Cons: Sub could be a little more 'punchy.'
While spending the past three weeks looking for a good introductory set of home theatre speakers, I narrowed my search down to two sets: the Yamaha NSP220s and the Polk Audio RM6000, priced at $NZ899 and $NZ1299 respectively. After listening to each set...

Perfect first pair of speakers

by enoeske , Feb 02 '02
Pros: Great sound. Low price. Comes with wall mounts
Cons: Only two of the wall mounts are very useful.
While shopping for my receiver i decided to get speaker (logically) at the same time. After listening to many brands it was between these and some JVC speakers. The Yamaha speakers were a complete kit while the JVC's were sold two at a time. The ...

I just finished building a home theater. After upgrading to a Denon AV Receiver and progressive scan DVD. My son asked if I could connect the older pro logic receiver and DVD player in his room, together with his television and Playstation 2. After...

Just the speakers
by taputah ,Dec 29 '06
Pros: Size, sound, price, looks, etc.
Cons: Surround not as strong as I would like.
I have just the speakers and not the subs in this set. I already own a JBL sub. These speakers are set up in a large room with vaulted ceilings. I purchased these speakers because the TV speakers would not do the job in the room. These speakers deliver perfect sound, especially with dialogue. The surround works pretty well and I am happy with the performance, especially with the price I paid for them. They handle the power from my reciever just fine and can go plenty loud. Music sounds really good when played on these speakers.
