Pros: Well built, price, efficiency Cons: small size may fool you
Very nice amp. I have these powering a pair of old JL Audio 10W1 subs. I have the gain set at around 45%. Very loud, clean sound. The bass is deep & focused. No distortion even at loud volumes. Also the amp doesn't even really get hot. After ...

Pros: consistent power between various ohms and voltages. Excellent crossover. Clean power. Cons: awkward mounting arrangements that leave the knobs virtually inaccessible.
First off, I actually paid the $400 that it retails for in stores. If you ask me, that's a lot to pay for a 300 watt amplifier. Even though it's rated at 250 watts, I say 300 watts because JL Audio rates their amplifiers conservatively and at 12.5 volts. ...

Pros: Loaded with power and strength Cons: R.I.P.S. setup can actually take away from the Dynamic Power of the amp
Do you want a stereo that slams? How about a stereo that shakes everything around it? If you want either one of these, then JL Audio amps are one of the best choices to complete this hard task.
JL Audio has recently started producing amps...

Pros: various impedences (1.5-4ohm), easy on your electrical system, great crossovers and tuning options, beautiful looks. Cons: maybe the price... but you got to pay to play.
I had this running a single focal 33v2 13" sub in a sealed enclosure. Using a voltmeter and a 50hz test tone on a cd is a must! I did this and the amp performed as it should! perfect! you can get the test tone on realmofexcursion.com and burn it to a disc. a simple ac voltmeter will allow you to dial this amp in to the perfect setting. complete instructions on how to do this are provided in the manual. I have since upgraded to the 500/1 which is just as easily dialed in with a cd and voltmeter. these are truly overbuilt exceptional pieces of equipment. If you've been unsure about getting a 250/1 or 500/1 trust me, they are worth every penny.

JL Amp, Awesome!
by kwalker87 ,Oct 03 '05
Pros: Great sound, powerful, small, looks good, quality. Cons: None. You get what you pay for.
I got this Amp in Conjunction with a one-cubic foot sealed box and JL W3 12" Subwoofer to take care of the bass end of the full system. The combination is great. The tightest and cleanest bass I have ever heard. It is way louder than one might expect from 250 RMS watts. The system has been installed for nearly 2 years without one hint of trouble.

A small beast
by illvibe ,May 07 '05
Pros: Very small, but very effective. Always pushes out what it says it will. Cons: The thermal protection kicks in if it's a hot day and the bass is massive
I purchased this amp after going thru Kenwood, Sony, Pioneer, MTX, etc amps. Nothing could run right, or push out the power I wanted. I was told that this tiny little amp could blow others out of the water, so I bought it. It's been a little over a year now and I still love the amp. I use it to push 2 Audiobahn high excursion 12's and the system is LOUD. I have knocked out both of my Lancer's tailights and my rearview mirror is useless. People can't belive this little amp produces so much raw power. I know of a guy who runs 2 MTX 8000 12's off of a MTX 1000 watt amp and (I swear to God) this rivals it in volume. I'm getting the 500/1 at the end of the month so I let yall know how things go assuming I'm not deaf.
