Pros: Easy to use for amateurs, enough pro options to keep most others happy. Cons: lack of true audio rubber banding, auto ripple edit can be a pain at first.
I've used various incarnations of Premiere, Avid and Final Cut over the years, and have found grumbles across each package, all are good, but none are perfect, each with their own quirks, and each with their own areas of excellence. I was running ...

Pros: Stable, very powerful, brilliant capabilities. Cons: Needs better control of fading on audio track. Cannot lock tracks.
Having used and taught in High Schools/colleges with all the current Sony, Ulead, Pinnacle etc. video editors, I can certainly say that this is the best BY FAR. The others either run slowly with poor real-time previews (Ulead) or are flawed in numerous ...

A great video editor, unless you specialize in 3 cameras!
by ericrk ,Apr 13 '06
Pros: Affordable, relatively easy to use, great special effects, great DVD movies! Cons: I had to reboot my computer, and reload it a time or 2 before.
I like this product because I photograph professionally, and have video as a side-line. It's nice because I can edit, put chapters/titles, music in about 4-6 hours; being about 12-18 hours after final product is delivered. Depending on how much you have to edit, the product will help you create your project in a timely manner. People that have purchased videos from me, don't know I use it, and haven't complained.

Affordable quality that's not too hard to use
by davidlisinski ,Feb 28 '05
Pros: Easy to approach and use. Good power/price ratio. It works (usually)! :p Cons: No moving DVD menu backgrounds or chapter scenes.
I purchased this program as part of a "two-fer" along with Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0. I'm very happy with both. They have a clean, up-to-date interface and cover many of the items that a digital photographer and videographer needs.
It's easy and fairly quick to make a video with Premiere Elements; and it let's you write in DVD quality if you have a DVD writer. Many transitions for audio and video are included and the wizard helps newbies get started.
I look forward to growing into the program even more as opportunities provide. Can't wait to get those Europe MiniDV videos edited and published using this fine, affordable program from an industry leader.
