Pros: Large capacity providing large power capacity and a reasonable amount of time for a UPS. Cons: 27 pounds... but batteries are heavy!
Its finally spring
late spring. Springtime brings showers. Late springtime brings thunderstorms. With thunderstorms come power disruptions. I was sitting dumb and happy thinking I wont have any problems, I have a UPS attached to my PC. ...

Pros: Appears well constructed. Line ineractive avoids continuous inverter operation. Relatively inexpensive. Cons: Only square wave output. Splash screen. Spartan logging. Changes XP to hybernate w/o alert.
[Bought to replace MGE Ellipse because or RFI whine on AM radio approx 10 feet away.] The APC BX900 is relatively inexpensive $100 unit after OfficeMax $20 in-store discount. Easy to setup and has worked well to date. Has line interactive which ...

Pros: Battery output power and the ability to keep even high end computers operational! Cons: The price... at 129, it was pricey - but better than Best Buy's price!
This review is coming from a skeptic. The reason why,.... I initially purchased the 350 system from APC. I hooked it up to my computer, charged it up for a good 16 hours, and pulled the plug. Approximately 10 seconds later, my computer's software ...

Best I ever had
by melmoses ,Aug 13 '06
Pros: Ease of setup, reliability, no beeping Cons: Haven't found one on this one at all!
I have had many backup power systems for my office computers over the years. This is the best and most reliable one I have ever had. It is safe (Belkin caught on fire!), reliable and provides plenty of run-time to finish what we are doing and get out safely even on our largest power user computer. It shuts the computers down safely when the power goes off and we are not here without a hitch. I have now replaced all the old ones (12 of them)with this one because of this.
A big plus in my book is that it does not beep when the power goes off unlike the old ones. It is so slim that we still have plenty of foot room under the computer desk. The software is very easy to install and the setup of the unit takes only about 5 minutes tops.

Not Reliable
by pcgeek03054 ,Nov 13 '09
Pros: none Cons: Unreliable. Can't even sustain even a minor power outage of only a few seconds.
I have owned the UPS for 3 years. The battery has just now expired and now the replacement alarm is chiming. Well that is a good thing. The problem is not the fact after that 3 years the battery has expired. That is normal wear. The problem is that one year into having the UPS, it stopped working properly. Even the slightest power glitch and my computer system would go down hard. Often, the UPS would display an overload condition and I would need to turn if off, and then unplug it waiting at least 5 to 10 minutes before attempting to plug it back in. Meanwhile an older and cheaper model UPS which I Have had for 6 years, had no problem with slight power glitch (outage) and still provides 10 minutes of power. The UPS 900 does not.
I wanted say, I will not buy another one like it, and don't recommend this model.
