Worth looking into but not for beginners

by blake2415 , Mar 06 '03
Pros: Hot and fast... Seems High Quality
Cons: Poor Support, Outdated drivers w/mb Jan 1.2003
Nvidia puts it all together in this GForce Chipset. I was very amazed with the overall performance from such an inexpensive board. I look forward to a whole generation of new systems based on this chipset.

The pros are numerous, so I'll...

An High End average mobo

by demonrammstein , Aug 13 '04
Pros: Stable, with onboard video, sound, networking, this is allinone.
Cons: Nforce drivers have to be researched.
This little board, for being under a $100 serves its purpose and serves it quite well. I have fallen back to using the onboard video because my main card blew (see my Visiontek9200SE) review. The motherboard has been running for a year and I haven't had ...

Top performance at a great price

by artrag , Feb 26 '03
Pros: Low price, great performance
Cons: None
My son recently became a videographer, but the demands of video editing proved too much for his old computer. I had the choice of listening to him endlessly complain about how inadequate his system was, let him use mine, or get him something new. Since...

I am very satisfied with this motherboard, altho i don't have much experience with motherboard & stuff, but when i built my comp (as an innocent person in building up comp.) I had no difficulties. It only has 3 PCI slot, but what can u expect for a relatively cheap motherboard that already has nVidia chip, sound & grafic. I know many people don't like build in grafic, but trust me this one is worthwhile. Graphic is removeable. Once u want to have a better graphic , nVidia can be turned off and u may plug any decent graphic card.

If you're looking to upgrade...
by lobotech_dt3000 ,Jan 03 '03
If you're looking to upgrade your PC as cheaply as possible, consider the Asus A7N266-VM. It has integrated video, sound and LAN as well as all the ports you will need (USB etc.) Unless you're running the most demanding games, the performance should be more than adequate. Am running it sweetly with an Athlon XP 1700 and 256MB of PC2100 DDR RAM. All up this upgrade cost me around $180. Am now multitasking with the latest software. Pure delight.

East to set up board...
by mikej_dt3000 ,Oct 22 '02
East to set up board with on-board wake-on lan, IDE, LPT, Serial, etc. in a clean mother board with little to interfere with air circulation. Heat sinks on some of the chips. Allows for maximum working room in a mini-tower case. Takes full advantage of the 133 bus (bus adjustable to 100). While the board can handle more ram, only two available DDR ram slots limit the ram to what you want to cram in each of the slots. You must plan ahead when purchasing ram (I recommend 512mb DDR modules for each slot).

by pagemastr_dt3000 ,Oct 17 '02
This system was assembled for typical classroom duties in a class teaching A certification. While building it they had fun trying to figure out some configuration issues disabling onboard components not available otherwise. When they were done I have been using it as my primary system in the classroom and it has been flawless. Not as fast as my Soyo DRAGON, but doesn't need to be!
