TAKES SOME GETTING USE TO by zelenkajl ,Oct 28 '09
Pros: Slick size and form factor, decent screen, great street price. Cons: Keyboard frustrating to use. Can run slow at times.
If you only want to do the internet this can be a good way to go for a couple hundred bucks. Typing is difficult but ok if you don't plan to use it as a word processor (even though Works is included). As delivered it runs VERY slow at times. I deleted everything not connected with the internet (about half the total program storage) and defraged the ssd several times. Now it is quite usable with wifi connections but still no speed demon. Battery lasts right at 2 hours which is ok for casual use however I would have bought the 901 for more than double battery life and faster processor (only about $60. more) if I'd known better. Still this is a decent product now that prices have dropped.
Pros: Works well as a secondary laptop for the basics Cons: Battery charger died after 9 months
I bought my Asus 900 in march of 09 and it never gave me any trouble. Was light and easy to handle and did what I needed for basic web surfing and checking email. It worked well until the battery charger died and I called Asus only to find out the charger has a 6 mo warranty and a new one will cost me $20.I dont know if this is normal for other netbooks but Im cautious of getting another one if I have to replace the battery every 6 mos.Had I known about this website maybe I would have considered Acer HP Dell or some other netbook.
