Frigidaire Affinity ATF8000FE Front Load Washer

Pros: Silent, effective, does large loads and is user friendly.
Cons: Customer service from Elextrolux/Frigidaire is utterly horrible if you have a broken machine.

As a mechanical engineer, I tend to scrutinize products more thoroughly than most.  I spent (wasted?) 5 hours on the web over 2 days looking at washers.  I was disgusted with the ridiculous range of comments about most products, from "drag it ...

I just had this washer & dryer installed. Because so many other washing machines have been reviewed as being very noisy, I wanted to say that this machine is barely audible at top spin speed with a full load. It is installed off my living area and I do not have to turn up the volume on the TV or stereo when the spin cycle is engaged. My previous front loader machine from Kenmore was so loud, I gave up trying to hear over it and often left the house during the spin cycle!

The small cabinet size, the variety of controls and the internal water heater were the reasons I selected this washer. The cleaning and quiet are the reasons I like it. The sanitary cycle takes nearly two hours, but it almost completely cleaned out the oil stains that my previous washer had gotten on my white towels and t-shirts.

I used Method HE unscented liquid and it works great in this machine. I only wish I had more laundry to do right now!
