Formerly Cingular client

Pros: Good coverage since they added the AT&T network. Cons: Mediocre customer service.
I've been with Cingular for years and am always been amazed when others come down hard on the Cingular network since the AT&T takeover. I think there's a lot of residual resentment from when Cingular was truly awful. These days, it's pretty good. Now that they've taken over the AT&T network, the dead spots are few and far between, at least in the Los Angeles area. Cingular doesn't have the greatest customer service, but I don't need it that often. They answer the phone in person eventually. You can't expect much more these days. More importantly, my reception has easily been as good if not better than most of my friends on other networks. Verizon has better customer support, but I think Cingular, since the addition of the AT&T network, has better reception and wider coverage (it is now 6/07).
We're on the family plan, which I think is well-priced with the shared rollover minutes. When my mother-in-law needed a phone we added her for ten buck a month and didn't even notice any change in usage.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
