Pros: Excellent all the way around Cons: No complaints
After a few years of depending on prepaid or pay as you go plans, thinking they were cheaper, I was finally persuaded by my determined teenager who did some research to prove that AT&T wireless was actually a better deal. Better because of the way she ...
Pros: excellent service Cons: if you have a bad phone, it will affect you
I switched from Verizon to AT&T when I moved to New Jersey, because I was getting really bad reception where I moved to and everyone who had AT&T (at that time it was called Cingular) bragged about their excellent reception. I was not very happy ...
Pros: excellent service and reception Cons: not a wide variety of phones
I switched to AT&T from sprint, after moving from Southern Michigan to Northern New York because I was getting really bad reception where I am living because we are out in the country. Sprint did not have service out there and the phone kept cutting in ...
Pros: Good service and customer services Cons: Not the cheapest
My family was transfered to AT&T last year when AT&T and Cingular merged. We were worried that the transition would affect the service and that the service at AT&T would not compare to Cingular which we had for years and found it was good enough for us. ...
Pros: Service Cons: Terrible customer service, store cannot handle warrantee
I have had AT&T in NYC since 10/07. The service is better than T-Mobile (terrible in NYC) and Sprint and about even with Verizon. The issue is around warrantee service. After six months my Blackberry Pearl would not charge through the USB port. I went to the store for an exchange (1 year warrantee). The only store than handles replacements is in Fort Worth, Texas. Given the commute from NYC they referred me to the 1-800-801-1101 warrantee number. After an hour on the phone they decided that the phone was damaged and not eligible for replacement. How a phone without a scratch is considered damaged by merely inserting and removing the USB connector I cannot image. How they make this determination over the phone is really mind numbing. Please be careful with AT&T I find them unscrupulous at best. Verizon would have replaced the phone in store with a smile.
Pros: Few dropped calls, good customer service Cons: Frequent bad reception
I work in NYC & live in Jersey City, & the service w/ AT&T varies wildly. It's like cellular service was 10 years ago where you're constantly changing body position & moving closer to windows to see if you can hear/be heard. Conversations tend to be short & shouted. The phone is a Motorola RAZR. Customer service has been pretty good; when my phone stopped working a month after I bought it, they replaced it very quickly. The mystery charges padding the bill are a constant headache, but that's pretty consistent w/ every cellular service.
