Pros: Arya comes into her own in this book. Cons: Missing a lot of my favorite characters.
Summary: This has been my least favorite of the series so far. Too hard to keep up with some of the plot lines and missing a lot of important people, I just couldn't get into it like I could the others. If you haven't read the first three books please ... read more

Pros: A unique look at the world from other characters' perspectives Cons: No Tyrion (yes, I know why, but I still miss him)
Summary: I’ve been taking my sweet time with this series because Martin still has two more books to put out (that we know of…) and goodness knows that means waiting a while. But I finally decided to read this one before moving on to the next ... read more

Pros: Expands the world, moves the plot along. Totally engrossing. Cons: You'll have to wait 'til the next book for some of your favorite characters.
Summary: Note: I'm going to endeavor not to spoil any major plot turns in this, the fourth of the ‘Song of Ice and Fire' series. However, I will be referencing events of the previous three novels, ‘Game of Thrones', ‘Clash of Kings', ... read more

Pros: Superb writing, in the details and action, and drama. Cons: Only half the stories are told; the other half follow in A Dance of Dragons.
Summary: A Feast for Crows by George R. R. Martin "Valar Morghulis."It became obvious early on that there might be a problem with the fourth book in The Song of Ice and Fire. George had several threads going, over a dozen, and ... read more

Pros: It was great to revisit the lives of these characters, see what happened to them. Cons: It is frustrating to wait such a long period of time between books.
Summary: A Feast For Crows is the 4th book of the George R.R. Martin series, "A Song of Ice and Fire." This was a great book to get reaquainted with some of the characters from the other books but not all of them. A Feast For Crows ... read more

Pros: Wonderful intrigue and political detail and plot turns, admirable character work Cons: The story-line isn't advanced much, and overall it seems rather pointless
Summary: For fans of the series, this is another worthy addition to George R.R. Martin's "Song of Ice and Fire," but unlike the other ones, it is hardly as spectacular and compelling. While the political intrigue and chicanery is as always superb, and the ... read more

Pros: Strong thematic flavor, skillful writing. Cons: Some silly editing slip-ups.
Summary: First, an important piece of information to remember about this book is that it does not contain a number of the major point of view characters from earlier novels: Jon Snow, Daenaerys Targaryen, Tyrion Lannister, and Davos Seaworth; these characters ... read more

Pros: not archetypal; older characters have great depth; story line is compelling Cons: too many new characters; lack of balance and flow in comparison to his other novels
