A Rose for her Grave does not disappoint. It's pretty much unforgettable. I've read almost everything Ann Rule has written on true crime, and without hesitation I think this book is one of her best efforts. Anne Rule writes with such sensitivity and competency. She conveys dignity to all victims even under the most undignified circumstances of their murders. She even presents the perpetrators with all their wickedness but still as human beings who've lost their souls. Murder is the crime of the arrogant. No better example of this than Randy Roth. Thank God somebody stopped him. Hopefully, murder will eventually become one of the easiest crimes to solve due to technological advances in forensic science. If only Ann Rule's books could shed some much needed light on our legal system in need of serious over-haul.

Ann Rule shows compassion for the Roth family in her writing. She is sensitive to family members who have to live with what Randy did and does not exploit them.
I am related to Randy's Uncle and spent some time with Randy when he was in his teens. He was a handsome young man with some disturbing quirks.
The book was well written and describes what happened with attention to detail without embellishment.

Hi, my name is Mary. I am Randy Roths ex fiance. I never once saw Ann Rule, or spoke with her. Yet she wrote as if she spoke with me, knew my feelings and things I said. True crime? Yeah, half way made up. It is a great work or art, but true? I don't think so.
