Pros: Very helpful customer service, price and comfort. Cons: Somewhat softer foam used compared to Tempur-pedic.
Over the last few months, I noticed I was experiencing increased back and neck pain. Making an assumption that my mattress was the cause (a Simmons Back Care), I decided to search for a replacement.
Pros: Great support, No more flipping, Same at Tempurpedic Cons: Pricey, Weird smell at first.
***UPDATE 10/14/02***
I have had this Mattress for 2 years now, and I am still in love with it. I visit my g/f whom is 2 hours away, and I can feel myself being more fatigued after a full nights rest sleeping on her Simmons Beauty Rest...
05-01-2002 LONG TERM UPDATE
So far, no real problems, but there is one thing I've noticed now that I've had the mattress a while. Since the foam reacts to any temperature changes, not just body heat, the mattress has different characteristics...
Pros: Timely delivery and in line with the expectation Cons: Firmness body and room temperature dependant to an extent
Update as of January 25, 2005 The mattress has become much less "hard as a rock" and actually can not be considered hard like that any longer. I was surprised and have to admit that is in fact what happened though over some time. Now if the durability ...
Pros: none Cons: quality of product / sustainability of back support non existent
I wrote this original review under "Dormia" - and did not see it come up under Abed...so here is a copy. ABED/DORMIA I purchased a ABED or Dormia mattress (same company)about 4 years ago (king size). At the time it was one down from the top end ...
To read the marketing material surrounding these beds one would think that this bed would be a cure-all. In fact the opposite is true. To clarify the core material which is utilized in "Swedish Foam" beds is not Proprietary to anyone...
Pros: Comfortable, unique bed, that provides the best sleep I've had in years. Cons: Initial odor, very firm if you're used to the old coil spring mattresses.
[This review was originally posted under the dormia.com store review, and got slammed with "off topic" reviews. So I deleted it, and am moving it here. Dormia and Abed are the same company, and this review is for Dormia's Versailles mattress. I can ...
Pros: Initial comfort and that's about it Cons: Foam gets soft, but returns shape as so the defect cannot be measured
In May of 2006 we spent an inordinate amount of time researching beds. We had a Simmons we were attempting to replace. We, finally, decided on the Dormia Celebration which was available from Mattress Discounters. This was after returning to the store ...
Pros: The ABED return policy Cons: The bed is nothing like the Tempurpedic bed.
I decided to buy a Tempurpedic mattress after trying it out in a Healthy Back store earlier this year. The only sticking point was the $1499 sticker price. After reviewing some epinions reviews, I decided to try the ABED visco elastic bed to try and...
Pros: COMFORTABLE!!! LESS THAN HALF PRICE OF TEMPUR-PEDIC!!! GREAT SERVICE!!! Cons: Should have got a king-size since the kids want to pile in too! :)
02/08/05 - Three years later and we still LOVE this mattress! I had been researching this type mattress for several months in anticipation of buying one when we finished our house addition and had our new bedroom ready. I was really planning on ...
Pros: Very comfortable, 2/3 the price of Tempur-Pedic, good warranty Cons: Took 3 weeks to arrive
I became interested in the memory foam mattresses after first seeing the Tempur Pedic mattress at a Brookstone store. I loved the comfort of the Tempur Pedic, but I just couldn't bring myself to pay $1500 for a queen size mattress alone. I did a lot...
Pros: BEST SLEEP EVER!!! Cons: I hate staying away from home because I miss my bed!!
I got the Dormia Comfort Dream about 2 years ago and it has actually gotten MORE comfortable over time. I went with one of the most expensive 100% latex beds in king size because I figured the longevity of the product would make getting the biggest and ...
I purchased a Geneva queen mattress. When I ordered it the salesperson said there was a 90 day money back guarantee like Tempur-pedic. I was concerned about that since I never had a foam bed before and I wanted the option of returning it if I didn't...
The new Posture-Temp by Abed known as the Dormia 2000 is a true blessing for the sleeping world. With very quick delivery, extreme comfort (soft to touch--firm to lay on).
It is, according to the Operator, the exact weight of memory foam that the...
