Pros: It does well all it purports to do. Very useful. Cons: Track pad is a little jumpy.
I do not agree that the netbook is properly compared with a smartphone. The value of the iPhone as far as "production" is that we keep our phones with us and hence they are usually available. My iPhone is practically always accessible to me. My ...

Worked for seven months

Pros: Worked for seven months Cons: Acer customer service
In Feb of 09 we bought an Acer netbook. Well 2 weeks ago it wouldnt start up it just kept saying there was an issue with the driver so, I called customer service and they said to send it in well 20 dollars later to send it in I get a very rude message from Acer customer service saying It had water damage and it will be 200 by the end of the day or they will send it back to me un-repaired. Well first of all I have NEVER spilt anything on it and have always kept it in its case. When I tried to call to talk to someone I was on hold for a least 30mins. So I decided not to have it repaired since I could have a brand new one almost for that price. So we actually upgraded to a larger laptop and a different brand.

Avoid Acer--Computers Break, Service Abomniable
by dscabicky207 ,Nov 09 '09
Pros: Cheap price Cons: They break--often Unimaginably bad customer service
This computer may seem like a good deal but in reality it a world of trouble. When it breaks--and it will, mine broke twice in 9 months--you will enter the purgatory known as Acer Customer Service, an oxymoron if ever there was one. They will likely try to find a way to not honor your warranty or to charge you for unrelated repairs. But please don't take my word for it: Google "problems with Acer computers" and "problems with Acer Customer Service" and you'll get an idea of what you are in for. My advice, pay a little more for a Dell or Toshiba or Sony. Well worth the extra dollars not to go through what the rest of us have.
Common problems with this computer: charging ports fail; lcd display fails; keyboards fail. Overall they are very poorly constructed. You cannot expect to get even 12 months of trouble-free use from one. By comparision, my Sony and Toshiba laptops are still trouble-free after 3 years.
