Pros: Exceptionally forgiving, good distance, superior loft, nice offset---bargain price. Cons: No feedback from the club itself.
These irons are quite the bargain! There is no question that the forgiveness and distance these clubs offer is well worth the money. The Idea (no pun intended) was not only ahead of it's time, it has actually set a whole new trend that looks as if it's ...
Pros: Forgiving, affordable, and well-built. High quality shafts. Lofts the ball easily. Cons: Trade trajectory for carry so they are a little shorter on the fly. Mediocre grips.
I've been using the Adams Idea A1 iron set for about three months, as of Jan 2006. I am a 20 handicap, and usually shoot around 100. I have the Adams Idea A1 iron set - note that the Adams Idea line includes the Idea irons, the Idea A1 irons, and the ...
Pros: Consistent, very forgiving, decent yardage, easy to hit Cons: no workability, lack of feel, difficult to improve beyond a certain level
First a little intro.... I've golfed since a child, however usually quite poorly (always well over 100) until a few years ago when I came back to game and really started enjoying it. I bought this set about a year ago, first set I bought new, (always ...
Pros: Straight and far partnered with a doable price. Cons: Haven't quite found any at my playing level.
I've been playing golf for about 20 years now and for the most part, I was using a hand me down set prior to buying my first set at Sears. I used the set from Sears for about 12 years then was thinking of buying a new set of sticks again. My buddy ...
I recently purchased the Adams Hyrbid Iron set on-line. I tested the Big Berthas. I liked those clubs but could not justify the price. I also tested the Wilson Fat Shafts, Taylor Made HT, and the new Wilson Di5. They were all nice clubs, but again, ...
Pros: Instills confidence at set up. Cons: None yet ... STILL in love.
I played with this new club for the first time yesterday. I didn't hit my 5 iron badly, but this club was more predictable and effortless. I only went to it 4 times all day ... each with success ... hit 3 greens from 155-160 out.
To me, it was amazing since I had only taken a few swings in the store ... and that was a few days ago. I would compare the feeling to that of a big-headed driver. When you set up, your mind just tells you, "You don't have to do anything here but make contact." Personally, I like the idea of not feeling like I've got to reach for more ... just take that driving range swing and hit the damn thing.
Pros: Easy to hit. Maximum game improvement. Cons: Green fees add up quickly.
I've tried my share of clubs and always seemed to cringe during every swing of my long irons. Then the bright people at Adams came a long and turned my 3 iron phobia into a love affair. The 3 & 4 hybrids trick you into thinking you're hitting a nice easy fairway wood. The ball jumps off the face in a beautifully straight arc, turning those 200 yard par threes into easy birdies and pars.
There is a slight gap in distance between the 4 i-wood and the 5 iron, but if you can find it, the 5 i-wood would fix this problem. I went from skulling my former 3 iron about 75 yards along the grass, to consistently hitting 200 yard shots with my i-wood.
But the fun doesn't stop there. I hit better shots with more consistency (very elusive in golf) with my 5-PW as well. I have gone from never breaking 100 to shooting in the low 80's in less than a year. Of course this is not all due to the irons, but the confidence they inspire is a big reason for my improvement.
Pros: easy swinging clubs, easy to correct slices Cons: "free" bag could have been nicer
this is my first set of clubs - very forgiving. These clubs may not "sound" like other clubs but they produce long shots and for a beginner, very easily controlled shots
Pros: light weight, easy to hit, great looks, will improve my game! Cons: nothing, nada, zilch, zippo
Thanks to a wonderful wife & kids, I have found myself lucky enough to get a new set of sticks for father's day. I just received the set in the mail today. I immediately headed off to the range to play! All I can say is wow! I am a very high handicap golfer and was looking for an easy set of irons to hit to help improve my game. If I can hit them on the course like I did at the range, boy are my buddies in for some competition. The set I have is the Adams Idea A1 with #3 & #4 Hybrids, graphite shaft, stiff flex. Adams hit the nail on the head with this set! I can't wait to play a full round with these guys. VERY easy to hit, the ball gets off the ground nicely, and just feels good off the club head.
