Pros: i love them
Cons: n/a
OK, first off, my pair of blue and red gazelles never touched a soccer ball. I havnt played soccer for over a year and dont plan too in the future cuz i figured out how lazy i am. But in the last year me and my gazelles have been through alot. From...

Some things never go out of style

by superfly , Sep 17 '99
Pros: Classic style, soft cushy sole
Cons: Don't try to play in these, purely leisure wear
The Gazelle is definitely a fashion item and has become a classic because of its style and comfort as a casual shoe, not its performance as an athletic shoe. I have owned two pairs of Gazelles and have had both pairs for about ten years. I wear them...

Sweet shoes

by joecent , Aug 04 '00
Pros: durable, comfortable, stylish, lightweight
Cons: not carried by many department stores
Adidas has always put out the best gear that never goes out of style. I had a pair of these shoes that lasted me over 2 years....now that is quality that is not seen anymore. The Gazelle is a prime example of a great shoe put out by a great company....it...

a true classic

by das20 , Apr 24 '01
Pros: durability and style
Cons: none
a big hand clap to adidas for maintaining their old skool line of shoes...in a world of increasingly complex looking shoes (prestos) a gleam of light lies in the past.

coming in an array of colors, i have burnt orange (hard to find, opposed...

Wear 'em on or off the field

by stevpimp , Jun 04 '00
Pros: style, all purpose
Cons: durability
I needed a pair of casual shoes to wear, so I went with the very stylish gazelles. These shoes are very comfortable to just wear around. They are also shaped perfectly to kick the ball around, or play an indoor soccer game. They are all purpose. Just...

Casual baby, casual

by Donny , Jul 19 '99
Pros: The ultimate in casual soccer style
Cons: Expensive for just a casual shoe
Gazelles are money. In terms of style, they are rivaled only by low top Chuck Taylors in terms of universal appeal. And like Chucks, color is the only point of contention. (Blue are my favorite.) The suede leather and padded tongue are incredibly...

Some do, some don't

by Nesty15 , Dec 22 '00
Pros: Stylish and comfortable
Cons: Second pair hasn't held up as well as expected
Let me start out by saying that I love the Gazelle. But, if you're planning on doing anything besides wearing these for casual use, you'll want to invest in another kind of shoe. I've owned two pairs of Gazelle's and had two very different results. I...

More than fashion - durable functionality

by nate_dowden , Nov 08 '99
Pros: durability, touch, colors, price
Cons: ????
Sure they are cool, sure they are multicolored, but is that why you buy a training shoe?

How about this...mine are now going on 5 years old, and have survived probably nearly 100 seriously high intensity astroturf indoor/outdoor soccer games...

Fashion, not function

by ucsdsoccer , Oct 10 '02
Pros: Classic, retro Adidas look for CASUAL wear.
Cons: Poor craftsmanship, zero durability, NOT FOR PLAYING!
For some reason, a lot of people think that these are soccer shoes. THEY ARE NOT! These are for casual wear and are marketed as so by Adidas. The shoes are not designed for indoor play and will respond so if tested. The rubber outsole will fall apart and...

Old love...

by anavidi , Dec 04 '99
Pros: light, mold well and are unobtrusive
Cons: fall apart quickly
Healdkw couldn’t be more wrong about this shoe. Not because what he wrote is actually wrong, because it isn't. The shoe is low quality and really wasn't designed as a serious indoor soccer shoe. It was designed mainly for looks and it quickly...

Can't Actually Play Soccer with 'em.

by healdkw , Dec 04 '99
Pros: Comfy, Stylish
Cons: Flimsy, Not for actual competition
I haven't owned a pair of Gazelle's in five years. I first saw these shoes and they looked sweet! They come in several different colors, bright red being my personal favorite. And actual the first time I ever played ball with these shoes the touch was...

Smooth Indoor Shoes

by esnowball , Feb 13 '00
Pros: Classic appeal
Cons: fall apart, horrible tread
The Adidas Gazelle's are one of the greatest indoor shoes ever made. They have been around for almost as long as indoor soccer has been around. These shoes have an excellent feel on the ball and are very quick...However, if you plan to wear these shoes...

Gazelles

by header5 , Sep 29 '00
Pros: They look nice
Cons: You can't play soccer in them
If you want to just look good in your shoes, I'd recommend these. But if you are planning on playing soccer in these shoes, you are making a big mistake. I bought these shoes a few months back, and have already blown them out. For the price I paid, I...

Nice to look at...

by kjrumz , Dec 27 '99
Pros: Appearance
Cons: Traction, comfort when playing
The Gazelles are a fairly classic, very nice looking indoor shoe. They first came out when the colored soccer shoes were hard to find. I bought my Gazelles during the summer and enjoyed them throughout the summer and fall with no problem. They were...

IS OLD STYLE TOO OLD?

by SoccerRulz , Aug 04 '00
Pros: Good for casual wear
Cons: horrible for playing soccer
I have had the adidas Gazelle's before now and although they are nice shoes for casual wear they don't have enough support, durability, protection or grip to do you any good in a game. When somebody steps on your foot the shoes thin leather does...

Piece of cow butt

by blkrockin , Feb 13 '00
Pros: they have blue ones
Cons: worst product ever to wear the adidas name
These were DESIGNED for indoor soccer, how come if you use them for anything but easy street wear they fall apart like wet toilet paper? I admit after I felt I had to move on from the Samba Classics the Gazells caught my eye. The Gazells although...

hunting gazelles
by gazzelle ,Apr 18 '05
Pros: cool and very comfortable
Cons: old colours discontinued
these are the best/coolist trainers ever made. they are as timeless as denim jeans and as comfortable as a pair of sheep skin moccasins. I got my first pair in the mid 80s, they were ideal for breakdance and BMX shoes. Back in around 1991 was the last time i owned a pair. my friends took the micky and my nic name became gazelle. about 2 years later they were all wearing them. now i want a to get some again but cant find them in the old colours. ...GAZELLE...

Best/Safest Indoor Shoe Around
by nknjmes ,Jan 04 '05
Pros: Sole grips just enough allowing needed "give" on turf.
Cons: Not much support and wear out quickly.
The problem with gum soled indoor shoes is they grab the turf too much. Because they don't slip out, force transfers to the knees which can result in ligament damage (torn ACL). That's why I play in gazelles because they have no grips on the sole. The flat sole grabs the turf just fine but has some "give". Although they wear out faster and don't offer as much support, they're comfortable and about as safe a shoe you'll find for indoor soccer.
