Pros: Inexpensive, Easy to use, Free software, does the job. Cons: Light sensitivity is low and some aspects of the firmware need tweaking.
Do you remember the Kodak Instamatic camera series? An evolution of the Brownie Box camera, these gems started to appear in 1963 and reigned camera king for many years, eventually dying with the introduction of the pocket instamatic that used inferior ...
Pros: 640x480 Video Resolution
Great Price
Easy to use
Comes with essential software Cons: USB Connection timeout
Some distortion past 2x on zoom
SD Card loads on bottom
Well, considering this product runs about $100, you're not getting a bad piece of equipment. First, the camera weighs less than half a pound. It fits easily in your had with a length of 4 inches. For as compact as it is, point and shoot is as simple as ...
Pros: small, IS, 30fps, SDcard, $97, sooooo practical, take back to Target if broken Cons: durrability worry, bad low light camera, not dvd quality
I look for gadgets that give the most quality for the littlest price and then use them to their potential. I have only had this camera for 2 days. It feels flimsy, plastic, toy like. I'm afraid it won't last real long but I didn't think my Pocket PC ...
Pros: Size, price, weight, ease of use, loaded with features Cons: Low light sensitivity, lens cap? digital zoom
I received this camera as a Christmas gift. My wife picked it up off the rack at Target as an impulse. What a great little toy. But then calling it a toy does not do it justice. The IS-DV, in my opinion, is the perfect solution to the current digital ...
Pros: Price, flexibility, and it works! Cons: Not enough to complain about.
I remember well.. hiking in the mountains and trying to save weight... I would have loved this back then... I've been using the camera for about 3 months. First... the camera case is great. Velcro, strong belt loop, and easy access... plus tiny ...
I bought this thinking "hey a 5mp camera and a mpg4 camcorder all for $160. How could I go wrong?!". Well, i must have been suffering from temporary insanity. It is what it claims to be, but only at the minimum requirements. The camera function is ...
Pros: Compact, affordable, easy to use. Cons: Poor microphone pick up. No low memory warning.
I've previously bought a couple other "cheap" digital camcorders and ended up returning them both to poor quality, bad image resolution, or both. However, this one, which I bought only with the intention to use as a Web-cam for video conferencing from ...
Pros: Good value, compact, multifunction -even and mp3 player.
Cons: Will not replace a full size model, but then that is not its design.
Small easy and easy to use. Can be found for about $100. I got it for $50 on Black Friday. The cons posted above are accurate (execept for only being able to use outside) Small screen, just flips open and does not rotate. But I like the picture ...
Pros: Battery charges fast, pictures great, small and easy to use Cons: I haven't found any yet!
Its a great camera for kids my age, and it has a low price for a great camera. I've been saving up for a camera and it was EXACTLY what i was looking for.
Pros: Video & sound quality better than expected. Small, light,
Decent pics under ideal lighting.
Cons: Terrible picture quality, terrible delay taking the shot, awful red eye, no lens cap,
I my expectations we're fairly low when I ordered this. I had read about all the reviews out there and thought I was prepaired for what I'd be getting. Not the case. Have a 1.3MP digital cam in a camcorder that takes as good a picture. It's way too light dependent. Outside is the only was to get a decent shot. Only worth it if you find it on sale, a big sale.
An extremely light and portable gadget- Don't expect more by janet_purr ,Jul 16 '05
Pros: Portable, Inexpensive, Easy to use, small files, SD memory Cons: Poor software, non-existent customer support, no lens cap.
My camera came without a lens cap and the U-Lead Photo Express software will not run (windows XP). Both Aiptek and U-Lead do not return my repeated requests for assistance.
I took the first camera back to Target. The exchange did not have a lens cap or functional software either. I decided to keep the camera because it's nice to have when you don't want to take a precious camcorder or high end camera.
A perfect use for me is mounting the camera in my convertible, and recording top-down driving through twisty mountain roads. :) :)
Movies can be converted over to VCR mono. Picture is just OK. I personally can edit & burn to DVD, but not using provided software.
Don't buy an expensive/fast SD card for this camera, the maximum write speed at highest quality is well within what a slow card can handle.
For some reason the limit to the SD card is 1GB, not the typical 2GB.
This might be the perfect birthday gift for a kid who is computer savvy. But I can't imagine too many adults using it for precious moments.
Pros: $97 on sale Cons: flimsy construction, no lens protection, no company support
Works poorly in video mode unless you have strong lighting. You must remember that it is scaled down size, so that when it goes to a full screen it is grainy. Adequate for the web, but marginal for anything else.
The still shots are not to bad, they must be framed by the LCD, which cannot be seen in sunlight. Focus is hit or miss.I cannot tell any difference between 3 or 5 meg settings other than they increase the actual size of the image to get the higher pixel count. The actual pixels are the same size! So do not expect to blow these up. My 2.3 kodak takes a better shot.
I do not recommend a buy, the cheap construction, missing lens cap(they screwed up on all of them, not just my package, and you cannot order one!)all leave it as a piece of junk.
Lens problem makes a bad review by jallaway ,Feb 21 '06
Pros: Great features for price Cons: Delicate lens assembly should cause caution
I got this for my son. He was very pleased with it; both the movie and still functions. Images were a little flat; but otherwise excellent for the cameras price.
The problem is the internal lens that has come loose on two of these cameras. The first time after two weeks of use and the second about a month after the original camera was replaced. I'm guessing my son might bounce it around more than other users; but I know he was being more careful with the second camera.
This problem leaves the camera with a restricted view and basically renders it ruined.
Pros: alright picture outside Cons: useless indoors or at night. tiny screen
this camera is awful it has a LED light that is useless.. the only time you can even see is outside in broad daylight.
also the screen doesnt swivel and its really small and hard to see
Do Not Buy This! Aiptek Customer Service Stinks! by nelsonbunch ,Jan 06 '07
Pros: none Cons: cheap! cheap! very poor quality!
Do not buy this camera. It is cheaply made from thin plastic. 6 weeks after I bought it, lens shifted inside and image became obstructed, also spring inside slot where you place memory card broke. I had to pay to ship it back to aiptek.com it took them 2 months to send me a replacement. The replacement did not work when it arrived (looked like a refurbished product anyway). I had to pay to return it. It has been over 10 weeks and I still don't have my camera back. Aiptek customer service will not answer my emails.
