Pros: Size/weight, inexpensive, video input, large color screen Cons: mediocre performance & features, no lens cap
First, what is it? Known as both the MPVR and P-DVR (tech support says they are the same thing), its a multi-function (hybrid) device featuring a 6 megapixel digital camera (3MP effective sensor resolution), 30 FPS/MPEG-4 video recorder, personal ...
Pros: Excellent Camera, SVHS Quality Camcorder, and Nice Sensitive Voice Recorder. Cons: High Quality Video Eats Up Memory Faster Than Other Hybrids
When I first stumbled upon these new hybrids I was amazed by what they "claimed" to do. I was like why on earth would anyone go and buy a clunky camcorder when they can have one of these?!?! But upon further review of the now 100's of 4,5,6-1 ...
Pros: Compact, All in one solution for everyday use, fair price Cons: Battery power last about 1hr, more memory would be better
THE STORY BEGINS I came across these neat little gadgets during the holidays. Though I had seen them presented on the home shopping networks earlier in the year. I easily dismissed them as a waste of money. My impression was it's yet another ...
Pros: Price, Features, Fun Cons: some software bugs, lots of adaptors needed.
Im so glad I purchased this MPVR camera. I tell everyone I can about it. I love the fact that it can do so much with only one device. What a hassle to need to buy an MP3 player AND a camera AND a video recorder. It makes total sense to have them all in ...
Pros: Great screen, VIDEO IN!!!!, good video recording, nice flash range, rechargeable battery, good picture quality Cons: Video suffers in Low Light, playback confusing, some settings dont store when turned off.
I have tried many of these type of all-in-one hybrid cameras and this is by far the best one out there. I bought it to mainly as a simple cheap camcorder as well as a PVR recorder. It does both great. The unit has a very nice look and feel to it. Not ...
Pros: Inexpensive, tiny, versatile, simple and produces great results. Cons: USB port and recording jack cover plate.
I discovered the Aiptek MPVR Camera/MP3/Camcorder/MP4 by accident. I was searching the Internet for a lightweight camcorder for an upcoming backpacking trip and expected to pay $400-$600. What I found was a gadget that weighed 6 oz., fit in the palm of ...
Pros: Superb recording from anything with an RCA video output. Many features. Cons: Image quality can be sketchy at times. Voracious appetite for memory.
If you're looking for high-quality video and plenty of record time from a digital camcorder, this may not be the product for you. Even with a totally empty 1GB SD card, you will not capture a full hour of video with the unit's VGA setting enabled. ...
Pros: Compact and multi-functional digital camcorder. Great price!! Cons: Not great for low light situations.
After getting a tape stuck with my fairly new $450 Panasonic PVGS15 camcorder, I vowed NEVER to use tape again. Hello, Aiptek MPVR. Aiptek who? Exactly. So, after several weeks of research on this unfamiliar brand name, I became impressed with ...
Pros: None Cons: Made a nice bang when I threw it off the 8th floor of my condo.
Does not take good at all in low light. The zoom is useless. It has to be a nice day to get fair pics. It worked ok on my laptop that had XP. But then i got a new laptop with Vista and it will not download any pics. And no update is in the works. It has been a year. I wrote them and got no reply. But I did get an answer from Microsoft that said that Aiptek does not want to update there driver. What a company. You get what you pay for.
Jack of all trades, master at none. by rompn4x ,Jan 02 '07
Pros: handy out in areas you won't subject your good camera to. Cons: video and sound sometimes out of sync, weak flash, poor in low light.
To sum it up... Buy it if you want to record video in areas you won't want to take your good camcorder in. I just shoot small videos with it outdoors in daylight. Thats about the only enviroment the camera likes. Or if it's getting dark, switch it to night mode and into black and white...Not too bad either. It mostly stays in my glove box ready for something to record.
Pros: Up to 6-megapixel camera resolution.
Small and lightweight.
Has video input capability!! Cons: No lens cap.
Poor low-light performance.
This thing takes great pictures! I paid only $130 for it at Target.
Video suffers in low light, but that's OK because I use the camera mainly only to take pictures. For some reason, Aiptek didn't provide a lens cap for the camera, so you have to be careful not to scratch the lens. I use the cap from a gallon milk container as a makeshift lens cap. It fits perfectly! I attach it by using a piece of tape. Other than that, the camera is great!!!!
Pros: Great quality of picture and video and easy to use. Cons: It's not so good in the dark and bright weather.
It is a great camera. I got it for my B-day and it is GREAT! I love how it is so easy to use with good picture quality. But in really bright and really dark it isn't so good.
The orignal one I purchased had to be returned under warranty - the image "jumped" after the shutter button was pressed. The replacement does not take clear pictures at any range. It's awkward to use with the shutter button on the back side of the camera.
