Pros: Timer, automatically reverts to warm setting when done, stylish. Cons: Pricey (but worth it). Lid handle gets hot while cooking.
Well, I've never owned a Cadillac, so I don't know if that's really an accurate comparison or not. All I know is that this is the nicest slow cooker I have ever seen in my life.My old slow cooker (a Rival with only High and Low settings) ...

Slow Cooker Rocks!
by dbquinn ,Apr 30 '09
Pros: Cooks in the time it says it will Cons: Heavy interior, so a little hard to manipulate in the sink.
The All Clad Slow cooker 6.5quart was a gift to my husband from my parents for his b-day. They normally dont get him what he wants, but in this case he said dont get him anything unless it is that! We have used it at least 2x per week for the last 3 weeks and this is the best thing to happen to a working couple. What is the saying "set it and forget it" - absolutely true. It cooks exactly as it says it will, in the appropriate amount of time. And the house smells fantastic - it drives the dogs crazy. The only think I would want is the pot to be a tad lighter and I should have bought it when my kids were still living at home!

If it breaks, just throw it away
by boawn ,Apr 30 '09
Pros: It's a great slow cooker Cons: If it breaks, you're out $180.
I was so thrilled to receive the All-Clad slow cooker as a gift. I used it happily for 18 months. Last week, however, I plugged it in and the control panel read all 8s. Because it is out of warranty, I looked for local repairmen. No one in the city of Seattle can repair this All-clad cooker, because All-Clad doesn't supply parts. I emailed All-Clad and received a standard reply that showed that no one had really read my message. So I called All-Clad and was told that they don't do repairs. They said my only option is to buy a new one. The All-Clad is a great slow cooker, with even heat and a good heavy pot. But not having the option to repair an appliance this expensive is not acceptable. For the price, All-Clad could at least have a longer warranty. I can't possibly recommend this cooker.

Premium price, zero quality
by harlei ,Apr 21 '09
Pros: Carried the All Clad reputation for quality. Cons: All Clad's reputation is a joke.
When I lifted the lid of my All Clad slow cooker with the black ceramic insert, I noticed discoloration on the bottom and found a crack that went all the way through to the bottom. This would have been only the FIFTH use! Only I have handled the unit and it has never left my kitchen. Online research clearly showed a problem with these inserts cracking, and further suggested that complaints were being dismissed as users being dumb enough to use the ceramic inserts on the stovetop. When I called All Clad, I was politely informed that there is no problem and that since my unit was 14 months old, I could purchase a new insert because warranty would no longer apply. Are they kidding???
Fool me once, All Clad...
