Pros: A good value. Cons: For what they offer, none.
For die hard audio enthusiasts and gamers wanting a visceral experience, keep on looking. What this modest set offers is a basic sound experience. Keep in mind that placement will effect sound quality so what I'm hearing may not apply to your setting. ...
Pros: Wonderful clarity and depth of sound, easy setup Cons: Subwoofer volume at back of unit, no treb/bass control on speakers
I wanted to upgrade my computer speakers without going overboard, so I bought this speaker system. It was almost half the price of comparable speaker, yet the audio demonstration in-store was what swayed me. I got it home and set it up quickly. Right ...
Pros: Clear and powerful sound without breaking your budget. Cons: On-off is integrated with volume controller.
I have set my mind to buy Altec Lansing FX6021 or MX5021 or CS21 after reading reviews on Altec, Creative, Edifier and Logitech. Went to shops and listened to FX6021, MX5021 and CS21. They are more expensive than the VS2221. After listening to them and ...
Pros: Bang for the buck! Cons: bigger drivers in the satellites would have been nice
One of my speakers quit working on my pc so I bought these for $40 at best buy. These are plug and play, have plenty of wire in my opinion and have a real plugin for wall outlet! The sound is detailed and to me a bit "bright" tho I did not really expect it this small unit has some bass and not the wannabe bass you get from a portable radio. Although it has bass it does not go way down(honestly anything with less then 8inch sub will not),if your like me and your pc's sound card isn't all that great then this is a good thing! The altec's put out alot of sound for $40 I have played some music,a movie,a few video games it does well at all of them tho maybe a bit better on movies. For the money these are great tho speakers in the price range of $80-100 look to be a big step up.
Pros: Priced right for the quality. Certainly more than you'd expect at their price. Cons: Low to moderate volumes sound nice. Avoid high volume listening.
I went from a Klipsch Pro Media 5.1 system to this after my sub fried, knowing full well the quality would suffer; but for $30 on the clearance rack at a local Wal*Mart, I gotta say I'm pleasantly surprised. After listening to a variety of music, I was able to tweak the equalizer in iTunes to make most stuff palatable. Mid-range frequencies will sound "canned" and the sub cannot keep up with the speakers at higher volumes. The Altech 2.1's make for pleasant listening otherwise. Nice, bright little speakers for the price. Retail was originally $50, but I'd estimate you actually get about $100 worth of the $300+ you'd pay for the Klipsch. Not bad at all. I'm happy with this economical solution.
