Pros: Wireless connectivity. The roller. Cons: The basic problems of ebook delivery remain.
The short of it: Since some people don't like to read long reviews, here's the condensed version: The Amazon Kindle is a significant but not revolutionary improvement over previous ebook readers. It does some cool things. It's also ...
Pros: Easy to use; lightweight; holds 200 books. Cons: None.
Even before the Amazon Kindle was available for purchase, my husband began talking about purchasing one. While I think that I would be considered an avid reader, he is never found without a book. He has a pile of books on the nightstand, ...
Pros: Easy on eyes (like my wife!). Lightweight. Expands with SD card to hold many titles. Cons: Buttons are sensitive; Can turn pages when you don't want to. Black & white.
I've been using my nifty Amazon Kindle for about ten days now, and I have to say, I'm liking it way more than I thought I would. Having worked in publishing for twenty-one years, I'm a fan of books - the kind made of paper; the kind that have to be ...
Pros: Not tethered to PC, great battery life, great interface Cons: No sharing of content, expensive
The Kindle, a joint effort between Amazon and Sony, is an attempt to revolutionize the way we obtain, read and store text media. Amazon has boldy bucked the trend of "all-in-one" portable devices, instead creating something that is tailor-made ...
Pros: Small, light weight, easy to use Cons: no back light
Okay, let me say right up front, I am not the most technology knowledgeable person. In fact, it's well known that I am technology challenged. If it has an on/off switch and works, I'm okay. Otherwise, I need help. With that, I ...
Pros: Great screen, mobile library, wireless access, long battery life Cons: buttons are touchy at first and the price is a little high for some people.
If you love reading the Kindle is a great companion. It gives you convenient access to as many books as you care to have. Reading on it is easy and the other features complement and enhance the reading experience. The main feature of the Kindle is ...

I just got my Kindle yesterday, and spent all last evening reading and playing with. Here are my initial thoughts and experiences, which might be helpful for those still considering whether or not to buy this hot new toy. First and foremost, the ...
Pros: Buy books without computer. Totally effortless reading experience. Portable, no more packing books for beach! Cons: Cover needs right corner tab. Buttons too easy to activate by mistake
(I have NO idea why the Kindle is listed here as an MP3 player?!! Yes, it DOES do that, but it's an eReader first and foremost). I coveted the Kindle for about a year before finally breaking down and buying one. The price, quite frankly, was the ...
Pros: Light, Great screen, Wireless delivery of books/periodicals. CONTENT is superb and cheap. Cons: Expensive, too easy to turn pages, no page numbers.
Kindle by Amazon is the best reading experience I have ever had. Previous to the Kindle, I used the Sony PRS-500 eReader. The Sony has to be attached, iTunes-like, to your PC to get books. That was fine when Sony was the only real game in town. Now ...
Pros: Excellent battery life, convenient size and weight. Cons: Slightly expensive in my opinion. Definitely a convenience purchase for me.
I've been interested in electronic reading devices for nearly 10 years. I've always found them too expensive and/or missing key features important to me. Amazon has solved my problems with their new device. You can read all the specific features of the ...

Pros: Wonderful Unit That's More than an eReader. Cons: Next and prev page buttons cause you to lose your place.
I'm a bit confused, and I think this is misclassified. I've had my Kindle for about a week. And I'm happy to say that they've started shipping them again. I decided to purchase mine as soon as I saw they were in stock again. I'd read they sold out ...

Easy navigation--it's intuitive Cons: The cover leaves a bit to be desired.
I bought my Kindle 2 weeks ago and if you can be in love with a gadget, I am. I bought it at my daughter's urging--I didn't think I'd use it that much--but now I am considering buying a second one because we are having a hard time sharing! I have always ...
A LIfesaver! Has me reading again! by btennison ,Jun 28 '08
Pros: Online Access; Changeable font; Audiobook player; 200+ book storage
Cons: Cover; "Page" buttons a bit too big
I've had my Kindle for a couple of months now and have read about 20 books on it. I gave up reading as my eyes aged and the print seemed too small, eyes hurt even with reading glasses. The Kindle lets me change the font to a larger size that seems just right. Once again I can get lost in a book.
You can nitpik and debate button placement, covers, and such but for me it's an overall winner. I can take it, and as many books as it will hold (200 ), wherever I go and read without many problems at all. I find I take it everywhere I might have to wait, doctor, dentist, barber, car repair shop, etc.., and the time just flies by. If I finish up a book, starting a new one is just a couple of button presses away.
You've got to try this thing! It'll change your life.
