On Nov. 25, 2006 we checked out of the Ameritania Hotel in NYC. They had charged us about $900 too much. When we looked (at check-out) to verify the amount on the rate card there was no amount that we signed and agreed to pay. I have contacted the hotel about a dozen times and some have acknowledged the error and some have not. Bottom line they do NOT have a card signed by me that the rate would be as high as I was charged. The reservations were made by a friend and confirmed the week prior to checking in. At that time they verified the rate and rooms

I have been there last summer for 5 days.
The hotel location was great, but this is the only thing I really liked.
The rest was without praise or blame.
People at the reception appeared like if they don't like their work very much.... the welcome has been pretty cold and there was a general lack of enthusiasm.
My room was sufficiently comfortable, but the curtain was damaged and I couldn't close it completely. Not a tragedy, but I understood they don't take care of details too much.
