Intuitive and excellent
by wormwormboy ,Jan 18 '07
Pros: A brand new game like nothing you've ever played before in real time Cons: Things to do a day are limited
Animal Crossing may sound like an odd title considering you spend most of your time feung shweing your house and running errands for townsfolk. However any feeling of regret to buy this game are completely unfounded. It will last you years and years which is exactly what has happened to me. I bought the game when it came out and years later I still play it.

I am Addicted To This Game
by leslie73 ,Mar 12 '06
Pros: fun to play all day and night. Cons: cant go online with this version
I heard about this game from my sister and thought I would give it a try. I am so addicted to it now. It is in real time so when it is daylight here it is on the game also. There is so much you can do on the game. One thing I really loved about it is that it came with a free memory card. Also if you have another person that has a saved game from Animal Crossing on one of your friends memory cards you can take a train to visit their town. My son made his own town and I can go explore his town. You also get a job with Mr. Nook's who gives you work to do so you can get bells (money) to pay for items you want. You can buy plants and furniture. If you love role playing games I would definately get this game.

Animal Crossing = My Happy Place
by billay55 ,Jun 16 '04
Pros: -countless fun animal characters
-clock time
-your own house Cons: -sounds get old after long periods of time
-not enough to do
I LOVE THIS GAME. This is my favorite game for the gamecube so far - it's so innocently addictive!!!! Although if you play it every day (like I do) then it gets old, you don't have that much to do each day. The graphics are mediocre, and the sounds do get annoying, but it's a lot of fun to sit back, relax, and work your network of neighbors and nemesis's after a day of slicing deku flower biting things with Link or squirting muddy villagers with mario. This game is so relaxing! Just take a breath, take a minute to smell the roses, or fish in the ocean, or run errands for your neighbors. Granted, only a few select people can enjoy this game, it's very different from other video games - there is absolutely no way you can 'beat' this game, and that's one of the factors that makes it so relaxing - and the element of real time playing into this makes it so much more realistic and relative

Encourages continued game play despite the fact there is no real "Goal"
by thepianoman ,Jun 10 '05
Pros: cute and fun, gives reason to continue game play Cons: animals repeat phrases frequently, some slight errors with the game
Completely addictive game. My boyfriend and I play it together (even though we may be too old to play this game) and we both have a great time goofing off, writing letters to the other characters. It's great that there are special "events" that happen in the game, gives you a reason to keep coming back throughout the year, because game play would get a little tiring after a month or so of game play. If you improve your town, there are new and exciting things which can happen, which really is encouraging to keep game play up. This is a great way to kill time. And it's actually good to sometimes leave it alone for a few months, because when you come back there is so much to "do" that you feel encouraged to pick up the game again.

Animal Crossing, not just a game for the children.
by leighkorn ,Mar 19 '07
Pros: Fun for all ages and addictive in the good way. Cons: After awhile the game angles tend to make me get nauseated.
What's as good and as similar as The Sims 2? Imagine twisting it about in a more child oriented game complete with animals and you have Animal Crossing for GameCube.
Even being a twenty-five year old female, I've found this video games to be one of my favorites thus far for the Nintendo Gamecube. It's child oriented gaming atmosphere that truly does mean fun for all ages.
Name your animal and town as you embark on an adventure of independence. Make friends with your fellow neighbors, watch the seasons change, pick fruit from the fruit trees, send off mail at the local post office, pay off loans as you build onto your house, buy items for your house amongst other things from the local shop. Even fish, dig for fossils and catch flying insects to sell or donate to the local museum.

A New Life
by baka_frostburn ,May 18 '04
Pros: Great Depth, High Replay Cons: May be too little to do at times
This game is basically like starting a new life. Since it runs on real time, it is a commitment to keep up with. If you leave your town for a while and come back, it will be full with roaches and weeds. This is only a minor setback to an excellent game.
The whole likability of this game is the extreme customization. You can choose anything, from your town melody to your house layout. This feature is what keeps me coming back to this game. You can play it for 15 minutes a day and you will be fine, but it is also a very good thing to do when you are bored. Just go fishing or something.
In recent news, Nintendo has announced ACDS, a follow-up to animal crossing that will be on Nintendo's new system, the DS (Dual-Screen). This game is rumored to have a feature of importing your GC town onto the DS. IF you are excited about that, why not start your town now?

Time to lead an independent life!
by racegirl72 ,Jul 18 '05
Pros: This game is totally customizable! Cons: several glitches, if u can find them!
This game lets you pick of one of the 4 houses available, and decorate it any way you like, from tables, stereo's, to couches! You can be a male or female, name your character, and your town! You can pick own town theme song, go shopping, run errands, or just relax and go fishing! When you start out, your house is really small, but as you pay off your debts, you get your house expanded! What's really cool, is you can pick the color of your roof, your wallpaper, carpeting, and chose your own wardrobe! There are 40 bugs, 40 fish, and 25 fossils to collect, or donate to the museum.

Animal Crossing
by swimminangel ,Jan 02 '05
Pros: Make friends
Get bigger houses
Visit other people
Good graphics
Cons: None that I could think of.
This game is fun but that is just a matter of opinion. Like if you are really into battling games and fighting you probably won't like this game! But if you like games that are almost like real life than this is probably a good game for you. I bought this game because one time when I had gone to my friend's house she was renting it and I liked it so I looked for it until I found it then I bought it. A lot of my friends also like it! My one friend got addicted to it she liked it so much and she doesn't like many games. I like that every town is different so if you have a friend that has it the town is going to be a lot different and have a lot of different animals live there.

A Must Have for the GameCube
by dafact ,Jan 30 '06
Pros: A rated E game that is truly FUN Cons: You need a memory card
This game is for younger kids (under 10) but I notice my teenage nephews, my girlfriend, and myself end up playing it. It is addicting as you find new things in a different part of the town depending on the time and month. I recommend this game to a parent who is looking for a
non-violent game. My six year old son loves it and it helps
him on his reading. The whole idea is to move into a town, make friends in the town, improve the town so animals start moving in, and work to pay off your house (in Bells). The town is stored on a memory card (seperate purchase) and you can swap towns/ memory card with another person and visit their town and collect rare finds in their town and make new friends.
The map is some what expandable if you have a gameboy and a gameboy link cable. You can visit an island to collect fruits, insects, or fish.

Highly Addictive
by mprice37 ,Oct 27 '04
Pros: Addicting, great learning tool about earning and spending money. Cons: Hard to set up travel town, to many extras needed.
This game is highly addictive and grabs you once you start playing. I first thought it was stupid when my daughter brought it home from the rental store, but then got into it and started playing it more then her. I bought the game and am looking to get the connecting cord for the gameboy to go to the island. It's fun and you can play it forever, but I wouldn't recommend for those late nighters. The other animals go to sleep and the stores closed so there isn't a whole lot to do. You can play a long time trying to get your house rating up and doing favors for other animals.

Animal Crossing
by lilskatergirl ,Jul 26 '04
Pros: Something to do I guess Cons: - Real time
- Overall boringness
This game was okey. It was too boring for me because there wasn't enough to do.
It was super easy, and took loads of time because it's in "real time", which means it runs in the same time as real life. So if you got on at 3:00 on March 4th that's what it would be in the game too. You would think that was kind of cool, but after a while it gets really really old.
After you are done paying for your house theres nothing to do, but walk around. This game was really really bad, and I would not suggest it to anybody under the age of 8. If your just starting to game, and you are like 5 years old it's fine, but I need something more thrilling.

Kids, don't buy it during the school year...
by hinote ,Jan 30 '05
Pros: -Good Family Game Cons: -Can distract from school work
...if you plan on passing your classes. Animal Crossing is a highly addicting game that will keep you hooked for months. It's a great family game, could possibly teach younger kids basic economies, like the idea of the stock market (stocks are represented as "turnips" that you can buy every Sunday morning, and sell Monday through Saturday). No blood or gore, but there is comedy implemented here there. I recommend getting this game sometime around the beginning of summer vacation (if you're a kid, that is).

Animal Crossing is a terrific game for any video game player!
by phanatic2003 ,Sep 22 '05
Pros: The game includes over 15 NES games that you can play if you get bored. Cons: You can't play online with other players or have multiple players in the same town.
Animal Crossing is an almost unending game with almost unlimited amounts of good times. The game functions in real time, seasons and many holidays occur in the game like they do in the real world, and you get special items from the mayor on these days. You can catch bugs, collect over 700 items for your house or wardrobe, or you can go fishing, or visit an island with a Game Boy Advance. The overall game is a fantastic experience that has me begging Nintendo for a quick release of its upcoming sequel on the Nintendo DS.

Animal Crossing: Addictive Fun!
by caitlinjean ,Aug 11 '04
Pros: Interactive, Decorating House, Catching fish and bugs, Fun for all ages! Cons: Requires frequent gameplay, Soundtrack slightly Graphics could be too cutsie for an average gamer
A fun and interactive game that will have you playing for years to come. Getting money is very hard at first, and will make most give up right there but once you get the hang of it (and a good cheat website) you will be among the high-rollers of your town. House decorating comes with endless possibilities... the only reason it doesn't get a perfect score is because it requires gameplay often or you lose track of what's happening in the town (not to mention the cockroaches that end up infesting your house!)
