Pros: Silence, attractive design, plenty of internal storage room. Cons: Expensive, panels are a little flimsy and warp, no BTX support!
I have long been a fan of Antec PC Cases (particularly the SX series) and when I recently came across the P180 in a retail store and saw the features, I had to have it. The packaging and design promised a QUIETER PC, a better cooling design and with my ...
Pros: Very cool and quiet. Good looking and well built Cons: Front door covers power and reset buttons. VGA vent is useless. Somewhat expensive
When shopping for a case for my first build ever I was amazed at the wide variety and price points of cases available at the various retail and online stores. I finally settled on the Antec P180 after seeing and playing with it a bit at a local ...
Pros: Ultra-quiet, sleek looks, sturdy, high build quality Cons: No cable management, no motherboard fan control support, heavy
Let's face it, most computer cases under $100 are noisy. They're really thin plastic or aluminum and have zero sound-deadening. And for whatever reason, cheap cases are horrendously over-styled. Antec aims to change all that with the P180 series of ...
Pros: Good looks; quiet fans; excellent cooling; spacious interior. Cons: Internal noise (power supply, drives, internal fans) is not muffled. Some inconvenient design.
NOT QUIET: All cases are quiet -- they are just boxes. It's the stuff inside them that is noisy. Reading the reviews, I thought the P180 would capture that noise, with only muffled air passing through. Not so. That lovely, solid door in the ...
Pros: Excellent Design, Quiet computing with High end Components. Sound Dampening material. Cons: Some PSU's have ATX connectors that are too short to reach motherboard, and need extender.
The Antec P180 is very aesthetically appealing. In todays world of superflous cases with insane amounts of glowing LEDs and windows, UV and other bling, the Antec P180 stands apart. Its appearance is striking, unlike any other case, it has a refined look ...
Pros: Nice looking Cons: Expensive case when PSU acquired and optional items purchased.
2006.02.27 (Monday) Antec P180 case Problems: 1. Cover - couldn't get it off. Finally, after trying many things, had to muscle it off, broke two plastic tabs on the bottom of the cover. 2. 80mm fan (optional) -- acquired, installed, can't ...
Pros: Excellent layout, airflow, and design. Cons: Pricey, and the case is HUGE.
Features*: * Unique upper and lower chamber structure: The power supply resides in a separate chamber to isolate heat from the system and lower system noise * Innovative three-layer side panels and front door (aluminum, plastic, aluminum) dampen ...
Pros: Sturdy, quiet, attractive, spacious. Cons: Flimsy front panel, hard to install power supply.
Pros: Nice styling, fairly quiet, sturdy, straight forward directions, plenty of room for stuff. Cons: I'm not crazy about the front panel. The door is held in place by four tiny plastic knobs. Somehow I bumped the door and one of the knobs broke ...
Pros: Lots of room, ergonomic to build into Cons: Of the 3 PCs I've owned, the one in case is the loudest.
I built a PC into this case and it did not come out so very silent as all the hype led me to believe. It definitely is a thoughtfully designed case with solid construction and good ergonomics, but by the time I was done with it, it whined as much as any PC I'd ever owned. My last Dell was quieter, as is the other home-build PC I have, which went into a Lian-Li case. I am very happy with the computer overall but I can't give this case high marks for its primary selling point: silence. Perhaps this is the fault of the components I used, but I did buy a "quiet" power supply as well and I even treated the interior of the case with some supplementary sound dampening material. Without being a build-you-own expert, all I can offer is my anecdotal experience that this case was not a silver bullet for me. The door also broke off within the first week of use. Flimsy plastic hinge point snapped right off almost immediately.
Solid Build, Big Fans, Simple and Sophisticated by pascalli2 ,Sep 30 '05
Pros: Spacious, holds lots of drives, good construction, advanced cooling and noise dampening design Cons: Heavy, some may not like the door on front, no removable motherboard tray.
I just got this case a week ago, and have not yet installed my Motherboard, etc. (although I put the power supply in last night) This is my first expensive case, as in the past I have been more of a "cheapest possible case" guy. I have to say, I am impressed. The case is solid, the fans are large, and from what I've heard, they are quite effective. Lots of room inside to work, although I would like a removable motherboard tray. The built-in screw case is handy for keeping track of the plethora of screws that come with it. This thing is a pretty big, heavy case, but it looks very nice on my desk...not too overstated, but not a traditional plain beige box. I feel very good about this purchase, and would definitely recommend this case so far.
Don't think it could get any better.... by wdnewman ,Jul 10 '06
Pros: Great quality, well designed and engineered. Cons: No case speaker included.
This is a professional looking, quality computer case made for the no-nonsense builder who wants a case to last. If you are going to buy just one case it should be this one, because you will never have to buy another. The engineering and construction quality are first rate, but no bling is included. Antec has done away with the duct system (probably not needed)that caused wiring difficulties in the past. One word of caution. Buy a good power supply with cables long enough to fit this case. I used an Antec SmartPower 2.0 500, and the cables fit perfectly, so don't try to scrimp or you'll end up wishing you didn't.
Black Really is Beautiful! by metalmorphasis ,Aug 02 '06
Pros: Black, Beautiful & Quiet! Cons: None!...Ok its heavy!
I had this case for about 10 months, and Antec recently sent me a new replacement front panel and the two side panels in black. My old panels were silver and warped.
Its really remarkable how beautiful black can be! And without the warp!
And yes its an excellent case, you can hardly hear it nor see it now!
Many thanks again Antec for a great case that you just made even better!
