Pros: Great size/capacity ratio, now Windows compatitable. 5, 10, or 20 gigs of music Cons: cost, sort of.
I've had the iPod for about a year now, and I'm still blown away by it. This is a great little music machine. I'm not going to lie: I had to pay a lot of money to get this thing in my hands and at first I wasn't sure if I had spent the money in the right...
Pros: Great style, sleek, small, lightweight, great mp3 player, stores calendars, now for Windows! Cons: no audio recording capabilities
What better to complement your brand new Mac than with a great music player? The iPod is Apple's hard drive based mp3 player. It functions as a music player that can store up to 1,000 songs on the 5GB version, 2,000 songs on the 10GB version, and 4,000...
Pros: Everything is way better than the competition- looks, feel, interface.
Great attention to details. Cons: Needs some effort to get working on Windows- but sure does work!
So you thought the IPod is only for people with Mac's? You couldn't have been more mistaken.
I was reading by the tons, and looking around, for a good mp3 player for quite some time now. Was in love with the Sony mp3 stick for a while, before...

Apple iPod
Now that I’ve had my share of harddrive-based MP3 players, I can write a review of the iPod that compares it directly with my previous favorite HD-MP3 player. I’ve traveled many thousands of miles and listened to countless hours of...
Pros: Powerful, compact, beautiful interface Cons: Occasional software glitches; no adjustment for intensity of backlight
The iPod is an MP3 player capable of holding 60 hours of music. Based on a 5 gigabyte hard drive the diameter of a quarter, it automatically synchs to Apple's user-friendly and powerful iTunes software by way of a FireWire connection. Firewere transfers...
Pros: Excellent design, simple controls, sleek and elegant, great sound quality, exceptional battery life. Cons: Slightly expensive, but not unreasonable for what you get!
Having owned a Nomad Jukebox for almost two years, i had become accustomed to lugging around a big, cumbersome, slow MP3 player whose batteries would usually die within the first half of my day (it also lacked an AC convertor for the car!)
Pros: Small, large storage, one-handed operation, Mac only Cons: Lucite scratches easily, Needs to be able to play by date added
I like my PC, but I LOVE my Macs. So when Apple Computer introduced the iPod MP3 player, I had to have one. My MP3 collection has grown over the last two years, and was rather inconvenient to access, as well as non-portable. iPod arrived, and now I am...
Pros: Beautiful design, Amazing battery life, Awesome controls, Lots of Storage. Cons: Minor finger smudges and scratches. Theft. Worthy Price.
400 dollars for a walkman? I had a hard time gathering the dough for this electronic treat. It was during a television episode of a well known collectors show, that I had a vision. On the episode there was a fine Sea Captains watch. A pioneering...
Pros: High quality sound, stylish design, holds lots of songs/playlists. Cons: Pretty heavy, easily damaged, lack of custom EQ, battery lifespan
First of all, my iPod is a second hand set, which explains why I managed to get it at such a low price. Also, my iPod was originally a mac one, converted to a win ipod. Contrary to the popular belief of the mac version not usable on windows, mine worked...
Pros: It's from Apple. Beautiful, Fast, Good Sound Cons: Case easily damaged, not reliable
When Steve Jobs brought the iPod out, I just had to have one. When it came in the mail, I was as excited as a schoolboy at Christmas. The package was beautiful, just what you would expect from Apple. Inside was this gorgeous little machine that almost...
Pros: Size, great sound, capacity, Firewire speed, big easy controls, backlight Cons: No case, needs twiddling to work with PC, not really random, memory effect, can't resume
Just to be contrarian, I decided to get an iPod working with my PC, come hell or high water. It took a couple of weeks, but it was worth the wait. Here are some thoughts from the perspective of an iPod owner with no Mac.
Pros: Size, weight, looks, Firewire, storage capacity Cons: Price, no Windows support, half-hearted copy protection
When the iPod was released I was first on line to get one. An MP3 player from Apple, what could be bad about that? Well, several things, I soon found out.
First let me start by saying the iPod is one beautiful piece of machinery. It’s...
Pros: Sleek, Compact, 5 GB HD, Easy To Navigate, Long Battery Life, Backlight Screen, FireWire Cons: Smudge & Scratch prone, No Case, Expensive

This is my first MP3 player and before the iPod came out,...
Pros: Design, Simplicity, Storage Capacity,... Did I mention Design? Cons: Battery is not removable
Lack of Bass & Treble control

Pros: small size, big capacity, great interface, sold feel Cons: cost
Welcome to the main event
I've had the iPod for about a week now, and I'm still blown away by it. This is a great little music machine. I'm not going to lie: I had to pay a lot of money to get this thing in my hands and at first I...
Pros: You've been given the Cadillac of MP3 players... Cons: ...It leaves you hungering for more features.
I recently have been lusting over the iPod when it first made its appearance back in October '01. Finally, someone got it right. Not only is it portable and easy to use but the 5 gig hard drive and the firewire connectivity is a major selling point. To...
Pros: Excellent Design & Finish, Superior GUI, Doubles as Firewire drive, NOT made for Windoze!! Cons: gets scratched easily, bit pricey
Received the Apple iPod as a Christmas gift from my parents, and to say that I was surprised is an understatement. My brother works for Apple and he got it at a discounted price, so it was even better.
Pros: Storage Amount, Appearance, Ease of Use, and Firewire-able Cons: A tad bit heavy, back-surface easily scratch-able, no extra features
Before I begin, I won't recite the stupid facts about the iPod that you can read on their website or anywhere. I will give my account on my experience with the product, tips, recommendations, and the honest truth.
Pros: Can fit every live Pearl Jam record released last year with room to spare Cons: Your old CD Walkman never crashed
I remember a few years back this friend of mine saying that he wished someone would invent something that would let him carry his whole CD collection in his pocket. If I recall, I think my response at the time was that I believed that to be about as...
Pros: HIGH capacity, small size, elegant interface, fast firewire transfer Cons: Short warranty, expensive, No official PC support (but 3rd party available)

Last weekend I purchased an iPod...and I don't have a Mac at home, nor at work, nor do I have any close friends with Macs. Nuts, you say? After all, you need a Mac to make it work, right?
3rd party companies such as Mediafour (mediafour.com)...
Pros: Perfect size, Doubles as hard drive, FireWire, Sexy Cons: Scratches easily, 1.1 Update
I'll admit it. When I first heard of the iPod, it was when everybody was busy mocking Apple for calling an MP3 player "groundbreaking". But the more I read about the iPod, the more I realized it truly was groundbreaking. And when the Apple Web Store...
Pros: Very well engineered, stylish, good sound, extremely useable, portable hard drive Cons: Must have Mac w/firewire, not PC compatible, expensive, battery 6 hours (spec: 10)
Within the scope of today's technology, the iPod is an extremely well designed Walkman (portable stereo). With the hype Apple's marketing is doing, I'm not sure the public realizes that when all the oo's and ah's subside, it's still just essentially a...
Pros: Design, capacity, user-friendly Cons: Price, Fragile and it doesn't bring a case
The Apple iPod is Apple’s first delve into consumer electronics since the ill-fated Newton and Pippin. Criticised for being slow to follow the digital music bandwagon Apple has been quick to catch up. All new Macs ship with CD-RW and iTunes 2; Apple’s ver ...
Pros: Sounds Great, Fits in any pocket, Superb Interface and iTunes integration. Fast file transfers. Cons: Mac only. No belt clip. Artist and CD names truncated. Front prone to tiny scratches.
The main criticism I’ve read of the iPod lately is how it’s “outrageously expensive” or people stating that they would buy one “if only Apple made it $200”. My experience is to the contrary. The iPod would be a good value at US$500: The 1.8” Toshiba...
Pros: Form Factor, Awesome UI, great screen, good sound, turn friends green with envy Cons: no case, annoying earphones, afraid of scratches, cost
I have been walking around with a Rio500 for over a year now, and have enjoyed the sound and features on that device. This past Valentine's Day, my girlfriend decided to surprise me with an iPod. We don't usually spend so much on gifts, especially for...
Pros: Great aural quality, battery, and features. Good transferring capabilities. Cons: Unpleasant earphones, Firewire port exposed to the elements, Pricey.
It took me a while to get my hands on the iPod. Initially, I was planning on purchasing a Sony PlayStation 2 (GTA3, MOH:FA, FFX, Max Payne...), but after close consideration, I opted for the iPod, being a die-hard musician.
Pros: Long battery life, compact and stylish. Cons: Scratches easily, very short warranty.
I bought a 5GB iPod back in November of 2001. I wanted something that would hold a lot of music, and have a long enough battery life that I wouldn't have to run to a power outlet as often as I have to with my laptop. The iPod fit the bill.
Pros: Holds a ton of music in a small package Cons: lack of packaging information
The 5GB (actually about 4.6GB)Apple iPod for Windows will someday rule the world! Well, maybe it won't rule the world, but I think a ton of people will soon be sporting this nifty little mp3 player.
Pros: Mac, Small, Sounds Great, Nothing as good. Cons: Mac, Unreliable, VERY Poor customer service, scratches VERY easily.
Beginning
When I first heard about the new iPod, I knew I had to have it. This machine could hold 100 CDs in it, so thusly I didn't have to lug around a huge stack of jewel cases and change the discs on a portable CD player when I didn't want...
Pros: long battery life, looks cool, holds tons of music, easy to use Cons: cant delete songs directly off the ipod; must do it on I-Tunes first, sleep mode
The iPod is a great machine and is well worth the money.

Pros: I dismissed the iPod as something that wasn't necessary. Cons: I dismissed the iPod as something that wasn't necessary.
As someone who obviously doesn't adapt well to new technology, I dismissed the iPod as something that wasn't necessary. I have CD's. I have MP3's. I have a CD player. I have a computer. I have one MP3 player. I have one minidisc player. And until just ...

Pros: Interface, Build Quality, Reliability, Storage Space, Button Placement, Display, Good Sound Quality Cons: None really, scroll wheel sometimes too sensitive, can't transfer back music
I have the original 5gb Ipod and I couldn't be happier. Despite the fact that it is a first gen, the battery still has most of its charge. I've been through 3 other mp3 players and of those I'd only recommend one of them. I absolutely love my ipod, ...
Pros: An Apple product, very thoughtful design Cons: Price and lack a spectrum of features
Whenever we confront a purchase decision such as buying an iPod, we largely analyze and weigh the two opposing ends- the cost and the benefit. What are the cost and the benefit of buying the iPod? Here is my analysis.
Pros: Small, good sized hard drive, intuitive interface, firewire connection, skip free Cons: Relatively expensive, so-so battery life, warranty
The Apple iPod is the second MP3 player I have owned, the first being a RAM based player. I recommend to anyone reading this review: only buy a hard drive based player (whether it be the iPod or something else). The capacity is much larger and...
Pros: Tiny package, long battery life, large capacity, Nice looking, Easy to use, Nice extras Cons: Can't replace batteries, Expensive, No Earphone Storage
Being a Mac user it is easy to justify getting an iPod over any other MP3 player, but even for PC users I think it is worth the extra cost over other large capacity MP3 players. There are less expensive MP3 players that have the same capacity, but it's...
Pros: stylish, long battery, user friendly, large memory, hard drive, light, compact, firewire... Cons: price
I recently got myself a Titanium and I though "waouh"! I have a really cool laptop and then one thing leading to another, I got rid of my Rio600 (which is also a good mp3 player) and got myself an iPod...
Pros: Small, Fast, Easy to Use, Plenty of Room Cons: Relatively Expensive
I recently received an iPod as a gift for graduation and have been amazed at the quality and ease of use of the iPod. The 5GB iPod has plenty of space for songs; currently I have 905 songs on it, about 10 playlists, and room to spare.
Pros: Firewire, Style, Great sound, Intuitive Controls Cons: Price, Hard to keep back clean
The iPod is the third mp3 player I've ever owned. Previously, I owned a Compact Flash based player and a CD based player. After first seeing the iPod, I lusted for it for a couple of month before finally deciding on the purchase. I purchased it on...
At first I was extremely cautious when considering to buy the iPod. 499$ is a LOT of money, and finally i was persuaded by one of my friends to get it. I must say that this was one of the best purchases I have ever made.
Pros: Elegant. Easy to use. Best MP3 player. Cons: A bit pricey.
I was very excited when I heard about this product from Apple. I had been trying to convince myself to buy an mp3 player for over a year, but could never find one that I really wanted to buy. The major problems with other players are lack of storage...
Pros: Fast FireWire file exchange; huge 5GB storage; lightweight; looks great Cons: FireWire ports uncommon on PCs; expensive
Since the iPod was made by Apple, who also made my favorite computer (G4), monitor (22" Cinema Flat Thin), mouse (Pro Optical), keyboard (Pro), and OS (X), I expected a lot when I heard of their MP3 player. They have experience in the digital device...
Pros: convenient size, sleek design, can hold 1000 songs, portable Cons: earphones have bad sound quality and can be uncomfortable
Sleek, silver, and sexy this more-than-a-music-player of an iPod is the answer to your portable music want or need. I received my precious as a birthday gift from family, and it has not left my purse or pocket since. Its small size (think Altoids tin...
Pros: good sound, light and compact, great interface design, decent storage space Cons: battery drains unexpectedly and erratically, only really get 2-3 hours per charge
First off..I love the design and the overall concept. It's so much lighter and easy to carry than other MP3 players..or even a CD player. The wheel interface is ingenius and the sound quality is very good (for average quality MP3s..which don't have the...
Pros: Looks, capacity, ease of use Cons: Ease of use means less features, price tag, and lack of straight compatibility
There are two good things about Apple. Their displays, and the iPod. Apple monitors have gotten good in the past two years, their LCDs are unbeatable. And the iPod? That's their new masterpiece.
Pros: Small size, slick design, easy to use, good battery life, fast transfer through fireware Cons: No official PC support, expensive, only 10GB, unable to queue songs
Recent technology has allowed hard drive based mp3's players to become the focus of companies searching to establish their player as THE mp3 player to buy. As a PC user I looked upon Apple's iPod with disdain, however I couldn’t help but be a little...
Pros: An operation is easy and it can concentrate on enjoying music.
Cons: I wanted you to attach a bag for transport.
If, first, there is no Mac, it does not sound so that iPod, such as an operating environment and an appearance, may be used.
The MP3 player soft called iTunes that sides with Mac by a standard is used as forwarding music to iPod.
Probably, iPod...
Pros: Sound quality, options terrific. Completely portable and amazingly compatible with iTunes. Cons: Battery is puzzling, system occasionally crashes. Earphones cheap considering cost.
I purchased an Apple iPod last spring and up until recently, I have been completely satisfied with the results. The battery, music, and compatibility (with Mac) were phenomenal.
Connecting the iPod to the Mac via firewire is quite simple, and...
Pros: Small, lightweight, easy to use/browse, lots of extra stuff, serves as a hard drive. Cons: Scratches, great equalizer presets but no way to change them in the iPod.
I did a lot of research into what MP3 player I wanted to buy. It got narrowed down to two choices, the Archos Jukebox and the iPod. I was leaning more towards the Archos until Apple decided to give the iPod some PeeCee compatibility, as I have both a...
Pros: Simple, classy, firewire, small. Analog wheel is great. One of my best buys to date. Cons: Pricier than most other players. Shifty durability
My Apple iPod has been one of my better purchases so far (19 years old) in terms of use and attention I give it. I say this because I am a music enthusiast and being able to carry most of my music, make playlists on the fly, and then listen to it for the...
The ipod is Mac’s latest and greatest product. It is small durable and highly portable. No other mp3 comes close to matching the quality and storage capacity that the ipod possesses. The ipod does not only offer lots and lots of music but when it comes...

Pros: Has 5000 Minutes Of capacity and good battery Cons: None i can think of!!
This is just by far the best choice i have made to go portable with all these mp3's i've downloaded. The iPod is small and light weight with lots of battery life and the firewire transfer is just quick as can be. (I've owned a sony mzr700 and Diamond...
Pros: When it worked it was great! Cons: Crashing, Internal battery failure, blank screen of death...

Pros: Light, Holds lots of music,No more CDs to carry around. Cons: No Belt clip, earphones just don't feel right.
What can I say about the Apple iPod? This thing has gotten me through many a day of boredom. Being a college student I have a lot of free time on my hands and trust me the iPod gets me through the waiting periods. And with the amount of songs it can hold, ...
Pros: All the pros have been mentioned in the other two previous reviews. Cons: Durability! And price.
Let me say that the other two reviews were thorough and well-written and I agree with them for the most part. Unfortunately, my I-Pod broke soon after the paltry 90-day warranty expired. I bought the I-Pod because I travel a lot by train and commute a...
It's good enough for me. Short and sweet, for mp3 players its size, the iPod is the king of the crop. Nothing else combines an elegant user interface, a small package and large storage capacity at any price.
Pros: slim width, interchangeable plugs (sold separately) Cons: length may obscure other outlets
This unit came with my iPod and is a simple but effective charger.
It plugs into a wall outlet, and has a firewire (IEEE 1394) plug on the opposite side. Connect your iPod to the unit with a standard firewire cable and the iPod will start...
Pros: Small, stores tons of music, FireWire transfer, styling Cons: BIG quality problem, not compatible with 99% of computers, poor battery life, no WMA support
The Apple iPod is a compact hard disk-based jukebox: like the Creative Labs models, it uses a hard drive to store MP3 files, but it's smaller and lighter than the other such digital music devices on the market. And it looks cute (like other Apple...
Pros: DICE - deep, intuitive, complete, and elegant Cons: Can't go back to other players after this experience.
I have carried my iPod around for over a year now. Newer models have arrived on the scene and tempted me to part with my money. I have put more of my CDs onto my hard drive as I have upgraded my computer, and I have gone through several sets of ...
Pros: nice audio, holds a lot of songs. Cons: price, price, price

Pros: Easy to use, can hold 1000 songs, works great with iTunes. Cons: It is possible that this will skip when violentley shaken.
Well, we finally did it. Apple finally created about one of the best mp3 players I have ever seen. It is so easy to use, yet it can hold 1000 songs, can sort them through playlists, the artists who sang them, or just the songs. The thing that amazed me...
Pros: Sleek, Great software, Easy to use, Forget CD changers Cons: Only 5 Gb I want 50 !
What can I say? The integration between software and hardware is unbelievable. So easy, my parents can even use it. I literally never use CDs anymore. I use it to learn new languages (only I00 Mb per Language (3 CDs)), as a portable jukebox at parties,...

Pros: High storage capability, ease of use, excellent sound, great for organizing Cons: The headphones that come with it are a pain.
I received the iPod as a Christmas present, and it is the most functional gift I have received in years. As a music buff, I find the storage and organization capabilities incredible.
For those with little computer knowledge, the iPod is easy to use....
Pros: Battery Life, Ease of Use, Size, Protability Cons: None as of Yet
After reading 100's of review's and watching the price of the Ipod, Apple finally lowered the price of there refurbished units to $299. So I sold my Nomad Jukebox, bought a firewire card from COMPUSA for $39.00 and ordered my Ipod. After carefully...

this is the sweetest thing in the whole of digital music world. it's functions are way out of this world. it has functions like calendar, clock, contacts etc. now where could you find these things in a device that is solely dedicated as an mp3 player?...
Pros: it looks good and it makes people jealous Cons: it has a too small hard drive

Pros: great mp3 player that holds over 1000 songs Cons: mac only
I got an iPod right after they came out, which was just about when I first heard about it. It is pretty small, about the size of a deck of cards, so it is very easy to carry around. It takes just a few minutes to get to know how to use it as it is...
Pros: State-of-the-art interface, Mac &PC compatible (mediafour.com), & about 1,000 other reasons you can hear. Cons: Software glitches(fixed), not for cold weather, headphones don't match quality of the player
In some ways, this review's like Apple's ipod warranty: I can't guarantee this opinion will hold water after ninety days.
Let me explain: while the ipod's definitely the best-of-breed mp3 play right now, I can imagine that the folks at Sony, Rio,...
Pros: size, user interface (ease of use), ingenious design Cons: headphone, limited 90 day warranty

Hey guys! All I have to say is good about my 10GB apple iPOD I purchased at http://www.geocities.com/devildude8989/Ipod.html. My friend got one from there and told me it was a great deal, so i checked it out. Turns out its $100 less than anywhere...
Pros: Great machine, great functionality Cons: It can't be dropped, it can't be fixed
We love(d) our iPod until we dropped it--not far (2 feet) and not hard. We called Apple customer service (friendly and helpful as ever--NOT!) and learned that it can't be fixed, just replaced. So...
Pros: stylish Cons: expensive, battery dies after a year (feb/02/04) and costs 99 dlls to replace
Before you buy this product, you must know that it has a crappy battery that it will probably die on you after a year of use. as for feb/02/2004, it costs you 99 bucks to replace the battery, and they are not servicing europe. unless you are willing to drop that kind of money for something that costs 350+ dlls, well, dont worry, but if you take into consideration that this is supposed to be a quality product, then be careful. if you order to replace the battery with a 3rd party company, it will cost you about 50 dlls... well, if you are able to pay such money for something that expensive.. well go ahead. enjoy your sh*@y product. :)
Ipod mini first thoughts by tonnelokke ,Dec 06 '05
Pros: Beautiful, desirable, sleek, sexy & easy Cons: Can't record & doesn't play live tunes properly
Can someone tell me if I'm wrong in saying that when playing back live albums on the ipod or Itunes there is always a gap between songs, even when you set itunes to have no gap in between songs. For example Jimi Hendrix live at Woodstock has several numbers that don't stop in between the songs but when you play them on the ipod or itunes (but not WMP) there is a little tiny gap which kills the momentum and the way it was supposed to be heard. Is there a way of dealing with this maybe a setting I haven't found? Also Take Manu Chao's live album, or Abbey Road these albums are all about momuntum, songs roll into each other with but I-pod or itunes doesn't let them play through. Most annoying and reason enough to boycot the whole scene. Unless I'm just being dim - Please let me know.

ive had over 15 mp3 players, and this player is definetly the BEST. with 5000 megabytes, i don't think you'll ever run out of space. it has such easy to access menus, just a click of a button and your off. i assure you, that you would not want to buy a bulky, enormous, mp3-cd-player, when you can get the same options, but better. think about it, how will you fit an mp3-cd-player in your pocket? you can't. you must always hold it in your very hands, or put it in a bag. ive had many of these, trust me, its a pain. Overall, this is the best mp3 player ive ever had, and am going to have for a very long time. i recommend this product for all ages.
This thing speaks for itself.... by $onny_dt3000 ,Jan 16 '03
This thing speaks for itself. It is an awesome little machine. Although you pay more for it than other mp3 players, it is definitely worth it. Extremely versatile and easy to use. Excellent sound quality. Highly recommended purchase!!!
This, the smallest of the 3 models available, still holds an incredible amount of music. I have over a day's worth and still have over half the capacity remaining. It also has contacts, calendars, and a game and will double as a Firewire harddrive. The sound quality is great; I have heard things on familiar songs that I have never heard before.
