a dream machine

by dauthority , Aug 27 '02
Pros: never crashes, very fast, superior in every way
Cons: none at all
I actually got mine custom built and upgraded to 800MHz / 60GB /1G . Even if I had not, this would still be a wonderful machine. This machine is even better than it looks on paper. You have to actually use it to experience the quality of design and...

Awesome machine

by sequentia , Jul 24 '02
Pros: fast, sexy, great screen
Cons: may scratch easily, form factor may not fit into some laptop cases
I got this laptop about 2 weeks ago and I'm still gushing. Previously I had a compaq laptop running at 1.13 ghz and windows XP.

I was not happy. I primarily work with *lots* of image files. Under XP, navigating directories was positively...

Quietly packs a punch, but a little too fragile

by livewire_13 , Jan 22 '08
Pros: surprisingly quick, some hardware work is rather easy
Cons: heats up a lot, case can bend and damage components, screen hinges are not titanium
Like much of the electronics I purchase, I picked up this Powerbook Titanium used. In fact, I also bought it with a malfunctioning backlight that quickly turned into a dead display. Using another website for directions, the design of this laptop made ...

My reliable design assistant

by ivgin , Mar 11 '03
Pros: Sleek look. Wide screen. Big keyboard. Great expansion options. Mac software in general.
Cons: Hot. Slower than equally-priced Pentium laptops. No Bluetooth.
It's been almost 6 months since I got it. The initial excitement is gone. All that's left now is an unbreakable trust in this piece of titanium and tin. Trust in its power, trust in its consistency, trust in its vitality. Enough with the poetics.

An Apple G4 To-Go!

by Spiderider , Mar 20 '03
Pros: Small, light, portable, and POWERFUL!
Cons: Expensive, but not necessarily, for what you get.
I'm a PC user by day (at the office), and Apple user by night (at home). I usually can't wait to get home and work on my computer.

I've been using Apple desktop computers for years, but only recently purchased a laptop. I do a lot of graphics...

TiBook that Breaks the Ties

by svenllr , Feb 09 '03
Pros: Sleek, fast, engineered well.
Cons: Lack of programs and a real docking station.
First, let put it out front that I've been a Pro PC and an Anti-Mac guy for years. I started on an Apple II when I was a kid and moved on to a PC by the time I hit high school. While Mac OS was cutting edge in 1984, it never seemed to move from that...

Titanium Mac/Apple G4 Laptop

by mike22b , Jul 29 '02
Pros: Beautiful. Fast. Simple.
Cons: Hot. Flimsy. Pricy.
I bought this computer as my college computer. It is perfect for a college student (after you buy a word program). This computer has never failed me. It is my work shop, and my play toy. Microsoft Word, Endnote and Internet Explorer run seamlesly on...

must have tool

by screamapillar , Feb 26 '03
Pros: small, lightweight, powerful, reliable
Cons: new more powerful versions
As a graphic designer, I definitely put my Apples to work. I got this model because I was moving into a smaller place that didn't have enough room for my PowerMac, so I needed something comparable (in this case, even better). I've had it for over 7...
