Pros: Light, Great Display, fast, Aqua interface, Great with Audio & Graphics, built in wireless card Cons: No S-Video output, not compatible with all printers
As a PC user for many years I have been partial to the once superior windows machine. However, with the introduction of the new powerbook line I have been swayed back to Apple. Graphics: The Apple display is one of the best that I've seen. Pictures ...

Pros: size/weight/appearance, good for novices and enthusiasts both, very fast, easy to use Cons: gets hot, casing easily scratched, poor speakers
When I went away to school, I wanted a computer that was small enough to be unobtrusive in a tiny dorm, light enough to put in my backpack for trips home, and would grow with me. I'm not a computer whiz, but I figured that college would demand more tech ...

Pros: Portability, Design, Quietness, Bluetooth enabled, Wireless Ready, Quality Cons: none
I am always hesitant to purchase a laptop. They are often very expensive despite its meager performance compared to desktop. Even though most says they are portable, they are not really portable. Battery also runs out quicker than you hoped and ...

Pros: -Simply beautiful
-Simply simple Cons: -Yes, it does get warmer than other laptops (but for good reason--it's more heat efficient)
I'm not a techie but I've used all sorts of computers--PC and Mac, laptops and desktops--and I've never had as pleasurable an experience as I've had with this computer. Right out of the box, my PowerBook recognized the wireless router I had used with m ...

Pros: Newly designed Keybord, G4 Processor, Slot loading CDRW Drive, 2 USB ports, great value Cons: Low default memory, no superdrive
Earlier this year I purchased the previous version of the iBook. I was utterly disappointed. However, when Apple released this notebook last fall I was intrigued so I went to an Apple store to take a look. I played with it for a half hour before I made ...

Pros: Light weight, Speed, Compactness Cons: heat (with os x 10.2) lack of usb 2.0 (revised on later versions)
I've owned numerous Macs, and laptops over the years. I started out with a second hand PowerBook 180 in 1997, and had numerous PowerBooks and iBooks over the years, but nothing seemed to have that same charm of being small enough to carry, but large ...

The little notebook computer is just strikingly beautiful in its case of silver aluminum. It is a pure joy to use too. This is my first Apple and I am extremely impressed with the ease of use and stability of OS X. The unit is very well constructed and ju ...

Pros: Form factor; reliability; battery life; screen; combo drive Cons: Not enough Apple and 3rd party applications
This is my 2nd Mac, but certainly not my last. I've owned over 20 computers since the early 80's. I was a dyed-in-the-wool PC user and hated Macs until two things happened: Windows XP and OS X. While Windows continues to "downgrade" with every ...

I'm in Love
by audiotenor ,Oct 28 '04
Pros: small, light, fast and the battery life lasts for a long time! Cons: It gets pretty warm after working on it for a while.
Until two weeks ago I was a life long PC user. A good friend of mine has a powerbook and I had the opportunity to use it many times. I looked for PC laptops with good wireless capabilities and by the time I added all the options I wanted it was more then a Mac not to mention 4 pounds heavier!
I finally got up the nerve to make the switch and I am so glad I did. I installed an airport extreme card and it works like a dream.

Baked Apple, Apple Crisp, easy bake ovens... a few terms floating around our school.
by theron2 ,Nov 06 '03
Pros: Yes, it's small, light and great to circle up with on a cold winters night. Cons: It over heats so much that the cases bend and the system throws kernel panics.
Although I am a Mac advocate and have worked with Macintosh for over 15 years, I can not recommend the G4 AL to anyone. We ordered over 150 for our school and from that batch more than 60 are showing signs of warping. Yes warping... some have warped so bad they won't start. At this point Apple is refusing to admit there is a problem and for over two months dragged their feet over replacing the warped units.
Want to hear from others with the same problem go to www.glennlog.com
