Pros: Excellent all-in-one computer desktop; great monitor size; performance is better than expected Cons: Boot Camp can be glitchy; more ports needed
I have to come clean and state this fact: I'm having an affair at my job.I never thought it would be like this but I've noticed it happens all the time whenever I've gone to a new job. My significant other at home is not too pleased with my ...
Pros: Large, beautiful screen. All-in-One design, clean overall appearance. Ease of set-up and use. Cons: No 10 key. More ports please. Kinda pricey. Not upgradable.
Wow, I never realized exactly how big a 24" screen really was until it was on my desk.Screen: Big, bright, and hi-res. Perhaps a little too bright however. And it doesn't seem to be as adjustable as I'd like. Even at its dimmest setting, it seems a ...
Pros: Great design, excellent speed and performance. OS X is amazing. Cons: too few USB ports, runs hot!, needs access to HDD for upgrades.
I've owned the 24" Imac for one year now and enjoy it everyday. Mine is configured with 2.8 Ghz Dual Core processeor, 4 gigs of RAM, Nvidia card and 500 Gb hard drive. I highly recommend the BTO Nvidia 8800 GS option for gaming and working ...
Pros: Nice specs, great applications, great hardware, awesome OS, also runs Windows. Cons: Steep initial price point, Boot Camp doesn't work with disc images, needs more RAM.
The 24'' iMac is a visually tempting system from the get-go. The brushed-steel frame and clean, crisp, high-resolution LCD screen do very well toward making this computer a "second TV" of sorts, along with your workstation... which may be a bad thing if ...
Pros: Easy to install, use, and love! Great screen! Fast! Great store training & support. Cons: Pricey... but worth it. Not enough ports. Will encourage you to waste your life (happily).
We recently took our 7 year old iMac to the genius bar for a tune up. Sadly our little guy turned out to have a failing hard drive. We grabbed him by the neck in the face of a bad economy, and headed towards the door. Out of the edge of ...
Pros: Style is a big one, power, smoothness, very simple to use Cons: A bit expensive but worth it when you get used to it.
I have had this computer in my office for almost 4 months now and my experience with the Apple iMac so far had been a positive one. I have not had to do much to make the Apple iMac work, mainly because it simply consisted of a plug and you were ready ...
Stunning integration of hardware, software and user by chainstrainer ,Oct 27 '08
Pros: Awesome hardware; truly useful software and OS; designer looks; great customer support Cons: Too tempting to buy more stuff like this
I've been a Mac user for almost two decades and the 24-inch iMac has provided me the best-by-far experience in personal computing - the incredibly bright and crisp display, the aluminum and glass housing, the low profile keyboard, the snappy speed of start-up, paging, video, browsing and on and on. It even runs Windows, if I ever have the need (I haven't since Windows 3.0 - enough said). The best testimony I can give for any electronic hardware, especially computers, is that the best designed devices function around my lifestyle and business needs, not the other way around, and they enhance my life with usage enough that I want to continue using them. I don't need to delve into megahertz this and gigabyte that. I'm not bummed if it has only four USB ports instead of 15. I just know this Mac works splendidly for anything I have called on it to help me with.
Pros: Rock solid. Gorgeous to look at. Great screen. Cons: No height adjustment, no matte options for those who prefer that sort of thing.
I'd had it with Windows and Microsoft, so I made the switch. It wasn't easier since all the IT at the university I work at was PC (despite the myth that all educational institutions use Mac). I'm sold. The is big and bright, the unit operated quite fast, with only a few delays when I really task it by running numerous applications at the same time. I've only crashed it once compared with a daily reboot on my PC. Software is MUCH easier to use and more stable. One bit of advice, get the largest hard drive available unless you want to use external hard drives. No easy way to upgrade internal drives.
