Pros: Svelte-yet-subtle good looks, takes no desktop space, crystal-clear screen, excellent software suite, best iMac yet! Cons: Most 3rd-party software isn't optimized for Intel Duo, no other real drawbacks.

Pros: Intel processor is fast, price is fair, fun for all ages, multimedia center, Plug-n-Play peripherals Cons: Default RAM isn't enough!! Must pay for winXP full version :(
This is a very fun computer in all aspects. You can definitely tell the difference in size from the 17in. The 24in version wasn't out when I first bought this model, but needless to say, this is still a very awesome computer. Here's the breakdown: ...

If you're looking for a high tech review of the Apple iMac, look elsewhere. This review is for the layman, the person with little tech savvy but high expectations. I've been a PC user for a full 7 years, a full 7 headache filled and often frustrating ...
Pros: Beautiful, virus-free, takes little desk real-estate, and easy to use...even for a Windows user. Cons: Not as fast as the iMac G5 yet, because Rosetta has to convert PowerPC apps.
This review was written on 2/25/06. Right before the Macworld show this year, I bought the iMac G5 20" computer, and I love it. I've been a long time Windows users, and still do use Windows daily, but was tired of re-installing my home Windows ...

Apple's new core due imac by computerlvr ,Sep 20 '06
Pros: Great screen, sleek, takes up little space, quiet. Cons: Super buggy and way more time consuming to get to work than its worth.
I purchased the new imac core duo at the end of May 06. It is now the end of Sept 06 and I am on my second system as the first one had more issue than tech support could solve. This system too is having several issues where we have had to reload the OS as well as several other things in an attempt to get it to function properly. In all honesty, given the challenges I have had with the two imac's I've had, I wish I had remained a pc person.

Pros: easier to set up than a 'real' PC Cons: Needs wired keyboard during initial setup
Having recently purchased two Intel iMacs I needed to add Windows XP Professional to each, and it couldn't have been easier. A quick trip to the Apple Web site to download the BootCamp utility, and a two step installation that in many ways was easier than installing Windows on a 'real' PC. My systems came with Bluetooth keyboard and mouse which are not recognized until after the software is installed. So be prepared with a wired USB setup before you begin.
Once Again Proving the PCs are best Suited as Paperweights by shanejayhayes ,Feb 20 '06
Pros: Easy Setup, Powerful enough for Pro Apps, Holds Value, Great Features Cons: None
The new dual core iMac is a true powerhouse in a tiny little package.
Don't let the fact that it is all in one small almost non-existent footprint fool you, this is a power packed machine.
The new iMac is quick, powerful and will do anything you need it to do. Whether your needs are simple word processing or professional video editing with Final Cut Pro the new iMac can handle it. We recently purchased two of them and use them as our new editing machines. They share a raid assembly and they work flawlessly. The screens are bright and clear and the setup couldn't be easier.
There really is no reason to use a PC these days unless it is to weigh down a tarp or throw off your castle wall at encroaching invaders. This iMac proves that theory.

Pros: Very easy to use and secure. It also looks sleek and modern. Cons: They should come in more sizes.
I just purchased my Apple iMac about two months ago and it's truly the best of the best. It's true what they say, it just works. Over the last 10 to 15 years I have owned top brand computers and they were good, but when I started to use the iMac, my old computers seemed like toys. I like the security. I use my iMac for business, creating music, making movies, and more. It's still new to me but everything I try is easy to do.
I highly recommend it!
Great work computer - does all the basics extremely well by PhilipG ,Mar 21 '07
Pros: Excellent design. Comes well-equipped. Cons: No wireless keyboard and mouse.
I was upgraded at work with this machine. I had previously had an iMac with the dome bottom and swivel flat screen. What a difference! This machine is much faster than the previous iMac. For my purposes at work, I basically just run the Microsoft Office suite of applications, along with Safari. I also use FileMaker Pro extensively. All these applications run just fine. Have not had any crashes or freezes.
I do run Photoshop occasionally. That is obviously slower than everything else, but still faster than the old machine. I'm sure performance will improve with a new release for the Intel machines.
The design of this machine is, of course, superb. It takes up little space, leaving room for all the other office clutter on my desk.
One wish: wireless keyboard and mouse should be standard. Used to be that AirPort was an option, and now it's on every machine. The same should be the case with the keyboard and mouse being wireless.
Burning CDs and DVDs is almost effortless on this machine, in the sense that it takes little time. Very speedy.
Pros: Beautiful. Faster than PowerMac Dual 2.0ghz. Rosetta not as slow as some reviewers have said. Cons: 2GB of RAM runs another $300. Only RAM/hard drive upgradable.
Not only is it beautiful, it's blazingly fast. I also have a PowerMac G5 Dual 2.0ghz with 2.5gb RAM and this iMac is faster than that machine. If you use any Adobe or graphic design products you're definitely going to want to upgrade the iMac to its maximum 2gb of RAM. I heard the reports that Photoshop was really slow running under Rosetta, but this is not the case for me. I find Photoshop a little slow but very usable. And apps such as iLife and iWork are notably faster than my PowerMac. So, suffer a little with Rosetta now but as apps become Intel native this computers potential is only going to get better, so go ahead and buy one.
Apple iMac is an astonishing machine by hrdclosr ,Sep 09 '06
Pros: This should be your next computer. Cons: The hardest part is opening the box.
