Pros: Excellent sound (audiophile headphone). Ease of use. Size. Design. Price Cons: Apple Headphones
As a frequent traveler I was looking for something that would replace my portable CD player and my 10 to 20 CDs I would usually bring with me. I have tried other MP3 players but they were either to bulky, or with limited capacity. On top, the sound...
Pros: Large capacity, small size/weight, fast transfers, Firewire recharge, PDA Cons: Car hookup, inconvenient cases, chrome shows fingerprints, duplicates files in library
I got my iPod right before Apple came out with a new model, so I have the older-style mechanical control dial. My review will be colored by that fact.
Still, I love this device. It is probably one of the best pieces of consumer electronics I...
Pros: Apple Quality Through And Through! Cons: Apple Headphones
I bought an Ibook two years ago and have loved it. I use my mac for all my audio needs and video editing needs. In fact I really don't need a full fledged stereo any more. This Ipod is the perfect Compliment for Itunes. I use it primarily in my car...
Pros: Elegant, easy to navigate, simple, beautiful. Cons: enter characters of a song (like in itunes) but otherwise, NONE!!!!
what can i say, another sucessful apple product from the most sophisticated computer company existing. Thank you apple! This mp3 player has finally satisfied the audiofile i am! I absolutely go NOWHERE without my ipod now. I am addicted. When I went...
The iPod is a fantastic MP3 player. From a design standpoint, there is no competition - nowhere an MP3 player as cool. I swear, if there is one piece of electronics that will get you girls this is it (seriously).
Pros: Lightweight, easy to use, lovely, portable, and all around fabulous. Cons: Is very easily dirtied but not easy to clean, earbuds are painful, scratches easily.
This year when I purchased my new computer, I also decided to spring for a lovely little musical device by Apple: a 10GB iPod (second version.) I bought it because not only could it store all of my music from my many CDs which I'd previously been lugging...
Pros: Small size, great sound, superb interface, easy to use, looks chic Cons: Everyone wishes they had one...
What isn't to love about the iPod? It is one of the few products that lives up to every bit of marketing hype. Yes, it really does hold 2,000 songs (actually, a few more than that). Sound quality is quite good. I usually hate ear buds, but the ones...
Pros: Great design
Great interface
I got over 1800 songs on here Cons: I regret not getting the 20 GB
If you have a moderate music collection (100-200 CDs) and love to go back and listen to every single track any where you want then the iPod is a must have.
I wasn't particularly attracted to the iPod when it first came out. I just got laid...
Pros: Great product, lots of hard drive space, lots of music, great quality, easy to use Cons: not a color screen
The iPod is great! The features that it has are amazing. It can hold 10 or 20gb of space which is tons of room for music. And now with interchangable face plates, not everyone's has to be white. You can also get anything engraved anything on the back. It...
I love the iPod. It defines the standard for what an MP3 player should be.
This model holds 10 GB. At the moment I have 115 albums loaded into Apple iTunes 3 my library taking up 6.69 GB. That is not bad, 1305 songs lasting 3.5 days....
Pros: Excellent sound. Compact. High capacity. Easy to use interface. Firewire is fast. Cons: Needs a better carrying case. Earbud cord and remote cord are almost too long.
First thing I did when I got my iPod was order a protective case. It's certainly sturdy but I didn't want to nick it up nor scratch it. Marware makes a couple of nice cases which fit and protect very well. The case which comes with the iPod is ok but I...
Pros: Amazing capacity. Intuitive GUI (graphical user interface). Bring your music anywhere! Cons: Portability issues for those that wish to "sweat to the oldies." Battery life issues.
Greetings. I'm reviewing the 2nd generation iPod, as pictured and described by Epinions. I'm not going to get into a lot of things that vary across the three generations of iPods, since the differences aren't significant, at least in my opinion. The ...
Pros: Large Storage, Long Battery life, Entire CD collection in the palm of your hand. Cons: Scratch Prone, Gets dirty very easily, Bad Headphones, Bad system Font
If you are one of those people that likes to buy things, simply because other people are buying it, then this is a classic example of such a product. In my opinion, this product is for the masses, and people are buying it because, well, they are just...
Pros: Storage enormous, looks great, sounds great, fast downloads. Cons: DO NOT WALK or RUN -- IT WILL LOCK UP.
I really wanted an MP3 player. Bought a Kazoo and got tired of the expensive storage. I found this on the net and went to Comp USA to buy it. After spending several hours import music from my CDs and tagging them. I finally got to take my Ipod to the...
Just got my iPod for... by brian_dt3006 ,Feb 06 '03
Just got my iPod for Christmas and I love it. The simple fact that I can throw every good song I know on one gadget and know that the next song playing is going to be good is worth the price.
Great features include different sound qualities, random, the new Calendar and Contact features (on the Mac version you need OSX), and of course the ever popular pong game when you get bored.
The hold switch at the top is great to prevent from accidental button pushing, and the touch sensitive scoll pad is an advancement from the old moveable scolls.
Light weight, cool metal and white body, and LSD screen is sure to attract the nearest bystander.
The only problem I've run into is when I took it outside on a run. In the 4 degree temperatures outside the LSD screen froze up and I swore I was gonna have to replace it. I took it back home, let it thaw out for a couple of hours, and all was well.
Besides that, its a great buy!
The IPOD was the third MP3 player I have had. The first 2 were Archos jukebox modes. Both died within 2 months of use. The features of the IPOD are head and shoulders above anything I have used to date. I'm picky and a die hard non-MAC person and I can still without hesitation say this is a first rate product.
OVER ALL A GREAT PRODUCT.... by lakeguy_dt3000 ,Mar 08 '03
OVER ALL A GREAT PRODUCT. A MUST FOR THE AVID MUSIC FANATIC. THIS PRODUCT WAS WORTH EVERY DOLLAR SPENT AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMEND IT TO ANYONE, EVEN THE DIE HARD WINDOWS FANS. I ORIGINALLY BOUGHT THE MAC VERSION AND DISCOVERED THERE WAS THE WINDOWS VERSION...SO NOW I OWN THE WINDOWS VERSION. I WOULD RECOMEND THE LARGEST MEMORY. I PURCHASED THE 10 AND WISHED I HAD GONE LARGER.

I would say that the Ipod is one of my best's present's ever, I stayed up for hours moving my music to my 10 gb...if you are going to buy an Ipod, get the 10 gb,it is the best deal, not only are you getting double the hard drive space but the $43 wired remote as well for only $100 more. The performance of the Ipod is amazing...it has a unbelieveable skip protection of 20 minutes, and management of songs is as easy as counting your fingers. This is a highly recommendable product and for those who don't have it...GET IT
I am an avid student on the go. I used to have so much trouble carrying around cd players and the c.d.'s I wanted to hear. When I bought the Ipod, I was quite skeptical about it, since I have had a bad experience with Apple products, but I bought it any way. I got home, plugged it up, and I was ready to hear my song quick and easily. I am now going back to buy a 20GB one. THANKS APPLE!!

I have been an avid Mac user for 12 years, and am more than ever in awe of the technology of the folks at Apple. I bought a 10 GB just before the 20 GB became available. Last week I bought a second one, a 20 GB this time. I did not have to read any instructions, I just plugged in and everything worked. Now I travel with a minimum of equipment. When at home, I plug into several different speaker set-ups I have.
It sounds great and is so easy to use. You can talk it anywhere, make playlist and go right to the song you want so easily. It is so nice to have such an easily managed music player. It is worth the price and I suggest you buy it right now!
This is my second MP3... by zip250_dt3000 ,Mar 28 '03
This is my second MP3 player, and the search is over. The iPod is 100 times better then my old one. The fact that I also use it as an electronic organizer with iCal just makes it better.
Apple has done it! The perfect MP3 player for the Mac and PC platforms. I have had the 10 GB ipod for 3 months now without a single problem. I use it everyday and it stores every single CD I own on it. It may be a little more than other MP3 players but it is well worth the cost!
I have had more than my share of MP3 players over the years. Nothing beats the iPod for its ease of use. The elegant operating system is as smart as the stylish iPod case. The firewire PC interface is the only way to go. It's the one thing I don't leave home without it.
This thing rocks!! I had the Rio600 and even tried the RioVolt and I have to say that the Apple iPod is the best thing out. It's small enough, looks completely awesome, has a big and very bright LCD screen, holds a lot of songs, is VERY easy to use (unlike the Volt I had) and sounds great with its Neodynium earbuds. I'm telling you, it's worth the price. (I have the Windows version however, and I had to buy a firewire card to use it, but it's worth the money if you love to listen to music a lot!!)
The iPod from Macintosh has... by beejus_dt3000 ,Nov 03 '02
The iPod from Macintosh has to be their best creation of all time. With the HUGE storage space for hundreds of songs and the sleek design, this bad boy is easily one of the best products out on the market.
My rating is influenced by... by bob_k_dt3000 ,Mar 11 '03
My rating is influenced by the high price of the iPod. High price products should equate to high quality products. The iPod is good but not great. Physical design is excellant. Touch wheel is a great idea. The LCD is difficult to read (aren't they all). The sound quality is acceptable (classical music) but I would have expected better. Like any MP3 player electronic music sounds very good on the iPod. I had problems with the Musicmatch software that are not yet resolved. Biggest issue is the battery. Drains when the iPod is off (drains to half charge in 3 days) and depending how you access the HD you may not get 10 hrs of play time (5 to 7 hrs more typical). Battery replacement is only done by a service station. All unacceptable. For $400 I would expect a bullet proof design.
