Pros: comfort, fit, ventilation Cons: noisy, shield removal is tricky
I was looking to replace my HJC CL-12, with the main complaint about the HJC being fit. The HJC was a bit too large and tended to move around while riding. When replacing the HJC, I decided to get the best helmet I could afford.

Pros: Light, lots of Air flow. Cons: Pricey.. but its your head.
When I started to ride I heard all the buzz about the "best helmet". To me, its personal preference. SHOEI's are ok, but too heavy for me. The Arai fits perfect, and doesn't kill your neck for the rest of the day.

In the rain!!!
by stealsharkbyte ,Jun 29 '08
Pros: Visability NO-Fogging, Ventilation, ease of visor use. Perfect fittement, Visor vents, Clear Vision in Rain. Cons: None. Ventilation will cause noise until we have a climate contolled helmet.
I had two HJC helmets the cl 12 and the cl 14 I cannot express my dislike for these helmets enough. I didnt even resell them they went in the dumpster.
I was caught in the inevitable rain storm and could not see a thing the HJC's fogged up just by looking at them...in a fog or any high humidity situation even during the day these helmets are dangerously prone to fogging on the inside of the lens.
With the previous stated I went and purchased the best helmet for staying clear no matter what the condition. The Arai that I puchased is the RX-7RR4 its the Yellow Edwards Replica. I took it out last night and it was "A" pouring, the helmet stayed completly clear with nothing more to desire in the rain except maybe a motorized wiper system...as far as noise who gives a F#@$ when you cant see!!! In my opinion there are too many helmets that are a real hazard on the market, shame shame. The Arai's are worth more than they ask and with a weakening US Dollar I'm sure the prices will go up.
