Asics GT 2040:If the Shoe Fits, what I Say Doesn't Matter.

by Lambira Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Nov 29 '99
Pros: The perfect shoe for my foot.
Cons: Might not be for yours.
I run in the Asics GT-2040 because it's the best shoe for my foot. I pronate like a bad boy and this shoe has been the best in all of the manufacturer's brands I've run in so far (Nike and Adidas the other notables). It's soft yet supportive, and I can...

For Over-pronators there is no better long distance shoe

by saby , Sep 08 '99
Pros: Great motion control support, narrow
Cons: not any I know of!
I have been a serious runner now for over 10 years. I started in high school on the cross country team, and realized that long distance running was definitely for me. I enjoyed going out on the road or the trail and just running for long periods of...

a shoe that caters to the biomechanically challenged

by darthmary , Dec 25 '99
Pros: great all-around ride for the biomechanically bumpy.
Cons: Asics tends to stop producing a shoe when it is ready to upgrade, so in between it may be tough to find in many sizes
As a runner who literally inherited mismatched feet from each parent, I can relate with frustrated runners looking for a shoe that gives needed support and guidance to the mobile foot, but who don't want to run with what feels like a block of cement...

Grab 'em and go!

by janny , Feb 27 '01
Pros: Don't need to be worn in. Good cushioning and stability.
Cons: Not quite enough support for high arches.
I admit it--I am a very huge fan of Asics brand running shoes, and especially of the 2000 series. My first love was for the 1020's but they are no longer available. Thankfully, the 2000 series are just as good if not better. I am a long distance...

Comfortable, but not wide

by Rulloo , Feb 06 '00
Pros: nice look, comfortable
Cons: I received corns
I am very picky when it comes to buying footwear, and i have all the time in the world to look at shoes since i work at a sporting goods store. Anyway, i became attached to the 2040's and i really liked them, both the look and the feel. After...

An overpronator's dream!

by TrackQueen01 , Dec 13 '99
Pros: affordable, comfortable, perfect overpronator's cure
Cons: not attractive, a little heavy
I have been running in my Asic's for about 3 months now. I purchased them from a specialty running store, where they picked them especially to help my overpronating tendencies. They have completely eliminated my running injuries, and helped me to have a...

If I Could Have Only One Pair of Shoes, It Would be the 2040's

by malswaim , Dec 19 '99
Pros: Comfort, comfort, comfort; durability
Cons: May require adjustment to thickness of sole.
When getting back into a fitness program after recuperating from an illness, my second stop (after the gym) was the local store that specializes in athletic shoes. My feet and toes were crying after just a mile in a new pair of Easy Spirit walking...
