Pros: tastes better than other "diet" shakes Cons: CLUMPS, LUMPS, MORE CLUMPS!
I bought this shake mix after reading the Protein Power Plan because I wanted to increase the amount of protein that I was consuming without adding on a lot of carbohydrates. I thought I hit the jackpot when I found the Atkins shake mix. ...
Pros: Keeps you full for 6 hours Cons: The taste, the price, the texture
OK, now I am all for this carb diet thing. In fact I have had good results. I have been searching for a quick meal replacement that is portable, and decided to try shakes. Atkins was the first one that I tried.
Pros: Can be pretty yummy if you make it by modifying the ingredients... Cons: PRICE! Wow! $20 a can! Sheesh!
I went on the Atkins Diet to lose those last ten pesky pounds after having a baby - and BOY! Does that diet work! I have never eaten so well (or so much!) and lost weight so rapidly - 11 pounds melted off in less than a week - and I was sold! I'm staying...
Pros: Fairly good taste, good nutrition, very low carb Cons: EXPENSIVE, must be blended, small serving size
If you've been reading my food reviews, you know that I have a sweet tooth. Chocolate is absolutely my favorite flavor in the whole world. And this product does make it possible for a person on the Atkins diet to enjoy the illusion of a chocolate...
Pros: Good nutrition, good taste for the category Cons: Doesn't mix well. Obviously an acquired taste, a little pricey.
I was on the Protein Power diet for about 10 months, and during that time, I lost 50 pounds, 5 inches around my waist, and experienced radical muscle gain for me, even when compared to the more aggressive gym routine I kept during University. I weaned...
Pros: A good dessert base - a good meal replacement Cons: Bland and in need of better texture (which can be obtained through adding ingredients)
I use the shake mixes, but I also have myself seated in reality - these are not going to be the best things on earth! There is only so much they can do with non-fat mayo, and there's only so much they can do with protein shakes! They are best used as a...
Pros: High protein, low carbs, and available in most grocery stores. Cons: Requires blender, not sustainable for long term usage due to punishing taste.
Having come off of Optifast, which is worth it's weight in gold, I was looking for a meal replacement formula to use as part of a modified diet to reduce carb cravings. I discovered the Atkins powdered mix at my local grocery store and found its unit ...
I bought this powder thinking that it would help quell my appetite for chocolate. I think I could have drunk some warm water with baking soda and had the same taste gratification. I didn't find the taste horrible but not taste bud satisfying.
Pros: Fills you up. Cons: Expensive, Does not mix well, tastes like chalk
Bought Atkins Shake Mix Because The Ready to Drink Shakes were tasty. I was thinking it would taste just like their ready to drink shakes except more convenient. I was wrong... Getting Atkins mix to actually mix is a challenge. Don't even bother if ...
Pros: Part of a great line of products. Cons: Yuck
I'm a big fan of Dr. Atkins and his methods, sooo I tried this along with some of the other products he offers. I picked the "Cappuccino" flavored shake.
I wish I hadn't. I have been eating the bars and using the syrup, but this...
Pros: might satisfy your sweetness craving Cons: chalky, hard to mix and expensive. yuk
If your idea of a satisfying shake is one that is chalky, chunky and thin, and leaves an awful aftertaste in your mouth, you'll love the Atkins Diet Shakes. If your taste buds still function, you'll probably want to look elsewhere.
I have been doing the Atkins diet for over a month now and decided to try the Atkins Vanilla Shake Mix. I bought this shake mix a few days ago and it's not so bad.
I have tried other protein drinks in the past when doing low carb diets and...
Looked good on the shelf.
Doesn't mix very well and tastes lousy.
They want more words so here goes.
The Atkins Diet is a great way to lose weight, I'm not sure that it's a good idea very long term.
I thought The Atkins product line...
Pros: A convenient on the go temporary meal replacement Cons: It's best when blended as opposed to shaken or stirred
I have been using Atkins shake mix for months now. I finally decided to try the Cappuccino flavor. This is the best Atkins shake flavor yet. It tastes and good as or better than iced coffee. I had been using chocolate since last year but have since...
Pros: Easy, Satisfying, Calorie Controlled Meal Replacement or Snack Cons: A little expensive, but high quality protein is always more costly than carbohydrate
I use the Vanilla flavor, and I mix one cup of crushed ice, one cup of cold water, an extra two packets of Splenda, and a little extra vanilla extract together...the key is to use very cold water/ice and a BLENDER. Nope, you can't get the same results...
Pros: none Cons: BLOATS you up, tastes yucky!, expensive
I purchased the Atkins shake mix when I went on the Atkins diet last year. ALthough I'm all for the diet bars, this was horrendous. Thinking it was an easy alternative to breakfast, I purchased the Cappuccino flavor and mixed it up IN A BLENDER ( as...
Pros: If you are seriously craving chocolate in phase I, it might help ease cravings... Cons: Does not mix well, is watery and bland
This would only mix well if I used my blender, otherwise it was lumpy. I thought it tasted watery, and the flavor is chalky and makes me want to gag. I'm glad it was in a low carb gift basked from a friend, as I would NEVER spend money on this product.
New Spoon Stirrable Shake Mix by bpet123 ,May 03 '04
Pros: NONE Cons: HORRIBLE tasting, watery, metal aftertaste, waste of money
Its downright disgusting. I was used to the old shake mix that was like a chocolate milkshake! This new crap is like chocolate water with a metal aftertaste. YUCK! DON'T BUY IT!!!
It's not as bad as people here wrote. by shurkleen ,Jan 31 '08
Pros: Keeps you full for 6 hours, has vitamins, tastes good when cold. Cons: Not good at room temperature.
The Chocolate Royale and Chocolate Delight (royale being my favorite) aren't bad at all. The secret here is to drink them COLD. Put the cans in your fridge overnight.
You need to keep in mind that if you just started Atkins and you're going through the sugar (drug) withdraw phase that happens on the first 3 to 5 days, the shake won't taste good because "it's not sweet enough".
I've been on induction for a month now and EVERYTHING tastes super sweet now when I dare to try.
The Atkins Chocolate Royale ready-shake (in a can) tastes actually pretty good, perhaps not at first, but I drink it everyday now, no problems.
On a side note, these shakes are really helping me as meal replacements. And Atkins rocks because I used to have over 300 total cholesterol and over 600 triglycerides and now my Cholestero already dropped to low 200s and my trigllycerides are under 150. AMAZING. No drugs, just common sense and no carbs.
