Pros: The trains moved people quickly. Cons: The security line, though always moving well, seemed to be an endless walk between stanchions.
Business has brought me to Atlanta a number of times. More recently it was a stop over going to Mexico and also was the US port-of-entry when we were returning home. Because of this I was able to experience the extra security of Customs and Immigration. ...
Pros: Busy-many flight options with reasonable prices; conveniently reached Cons: Busy-long lines at check-in and security
Atlanta's commercial airport (airline code ATL) is consistently either the number one or number two busiest airport in the WORLD. It and Chicago's O'Hare regularly face off to duel for the title. The reason it is the busiest is not because of all the ...
Pros: large airline selection, many destinations to fly to non-stop, simple terminals Cons: staff could be friendlier and more professional, ugly and outdated terminals, crowded airspace

Pros: It's better than changing planes in Cincinnati. Trust me. Cons: If you don't live in Atlanta, too bad.
You can't tell it from the Epinions category, but the airport in Atlanta was recently renamed. After the death last June of former Atlanta Mayor Maynard Jackson, his friends, family and supporters have been calling for the airport to be renamed in his ...
Pros: Ample space, clean, nice airport, not completely overpriced... Cons: A little busy
Atlanta is the main hub and headquarters of Delta Airlines, so if you are flying Delta to anywhere in the world there is a pretty good chance that you will be going through Atlanta. Other airlines use this airport as a hub as well, as it is a major city ...
Pros: Close proximity to downtown; lots of destinations served direct; lots of fast food & Starbucks Cons: Congested, not enough parking, lots of construction, summer thunder storm delays, poor wireless access
I travel for work all the time so I am usually in & out of Hartsfield 2-4 times a month. The airport has changed a lot in some ways in the past few years and very little in others. First of all, Hartsfield recently surpassed Chicago as the dubious ...
Pros: Food and beverage outlets. MARTA service, terminal train system.
Cons: weather and "ATC" delay potential
I believe the saying goes; "If you die in the south, you go through "ATL" on your way to Heaven." Mention Atlanta Hartsfield (ATL) and many people freak out. Images of being lost in a sea of confusion come to mind. I know travelers who will do anything...
Pros: Very easy to get around Cons: If you don't understand the trams you could get lost easily
Atlanta's Hartsfield airport has to be one of the easiest airports to get around in. It is important to pay attention to the signs for the tram or you can get lost quickly, if you look at the signs it is not a problem.
Pros: Welcoming immigration area, everything easy to find. Friendly people Cons: Dreadful voice in the underground
Of all American airports I have flown to, Atlanta is definitely one of the nicest.
It is a real pleasure to experience wide corridors and a large immigration area. Even when two or three wide bodied jets arrive at the same time it never feels crowded.
One immediately feels that one is welcome. In comparison to all other immigration arrivals, Atlanta has stern (as they have to be) immigration officials but still polite and believe me, for a foreigner a big change to the likes of Kennedy or Chicago...
Everything flows easily and one has just to follow the flow. One cannot really get lost. The worse part is the underground train. The announcements are dreadful and one is never sure at which stop one must get off to retrieve one's luggage.
I am amazed at the way the employees manage despite the enormous flow of people.
Atlanta has not stolen its name when it calls itself Gateway to the South. Nice, easy and friendly.
Pros: Easy to navigate, security lines fast, staff helpful Cons: Some things a bit outdates as far as style and looks
For someone who only flies for pleasure - I fly pretty frequently - about 6 times per year for about 4 years straight now. Atlanta is by far - the best airport Ive ever flown through. As a connecting airport and as a departing and final destination airport - its very very easy to navigate. Food and merchandise shops are located nearby every terminal on every concourse. The trams are easy and timely - teh staff is helpful - and the security lines are rather fast.
I always look forward to flying to and through Atlanta Hartsfield.
