Pros: Great SPL, low price, 4 ohm DVC versatility, design allows ported or sealed enclosure Cons: SQ in ported enclosure, surround takes up cone space
I purchased these subs having used Audiobahn in the past (Alum 12 subs and amp) with great results. This time i was going for SPL at the lowest price, so chose the AW1200 series. The specs looked great for the price-- 700w rms, 2.5" voice coil, 4 ohm ...
Pros: Great looking subwoofer, excellent bass performance, nice clarity Cons: extremely heavy
I am a huge car audio enthusiast. Ever since my first car back in 1997, I have been trying to push the envelope on what my vehicles can do. My very first car, a 1995 Mustang started out with the most simplistic of sound systems, featuring a floating ...
Pros: price, sound, power Cons: overrated wattage handling
I had heard of Audiobahn through friends, reviews, etc and decided to buy some. Found them on Yahoo auctions for $77 a pair so I got them. I out them in a generic box I had built pushed by a 800w power acoustic "gothic" amp (which is a VERY good amp I...
Pros: high power handling, pretty, LOUDLOUDLOUD, dont need lots of air. Cons: pink logo, sub is really 12.75" so premade boxes wont work.
bought these off ebay. 78 shipping each. 700w rms. pretty chrome.
i had to build my own box for it(not a problem, i saved money and i gots the smarts) THESE SLAM!!! hooked each one up to a lanzar vhc2000 at 2ohm stereo, and they each have...
AW00Q series woofers take the prize in the versatile woofer category. Combining a non-compressed paper cone and a Phat 2 surround, this woofer gives you the ability to pound it out with the best of them while making sure you dont miss out on...
Pros: It can slam.. no doubt Cons: none that I can think of
If you want an excellent sub for a great price than this is it. Last year I bought an Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1 sub and well a year later it burnt out and it doesn't work anymore. I wanted something that would slam harder than that. So I went to my...
Disapointed beyond all belief by illvibe ,May 09 '05
Pros: they look great Cons: send current back to the amp, heating it or worse
This needs to be told. Yesterday I got my new 500/1 hooked up. Within 5 minutes it became scalding hot and went into thermal protection. This was with the gain set low and no bass boost on at all. I called a professional and he explained to me that Audiobahn subs send current back to the amplifier. The proof? Hook them up to a Jl audio amp and watch the Low Ohm light blink everytime the bass hits hard. Needless to say, I was devastated. I've been using a 250/1 for over a year and I thought it overheated because it was just small. No, its the subs fault. I sent the 500/1 back and exchanged it for 2 Jl audio W3's. Some might think I'm crazy for doing this but I just dont have the money to remedy the problem any other way. Basically, dont buy these subs. Go with a trusted brand like JL.
Definitely worth every penny by thatspsychotic ,Feb 26 '05
Pros: Loud, clean, inexpensive, versatile. Best bump for the buck. Cons: Not the best power handling in the world, definitely not competition grade.
About a year and a half ago I bought a pair of these subs and built a large ported box for them per Audiobahn specs on their website. I am extremely pleased with the results.
These subs play louder and lower than any single 15" or pair of 12" subs that I've ever heard. I run a 1200W RMS class A amp through the pair of them, one per channel, at 2ohms each and they are plenty loud enough for me. Additionally, they continue to play clearly even as they get louder. I have even DJed a few school dances with these subs, and they more than fill an entire cafeteria with clean, low bass. For they money, I couldn't recommend any other subs.
Go get yourself a pair of these and match them with a decent amp. Build the box(es) to spec and you will not be let down. I recommend using ported boxes, if you can spare the extra airspace. My box is about 4 cu. ft. total.
Great Sub for the money by nofear72780 ,Oct 30 '03
Pros: Larger than average 12" sub, Looks, Price, Power Handling, Durability Cons: I can't say anything bad about these subs their worth every penny.
I have owned 2 AW1200 for almost 2 years now. I bought these because of their power handling, sensitivity, cool chrome looks, and price. I previously owned 2 JL W3's 12" subs and the Audiobahns definitely hit harder but are not as clear. They work very good in a sealed box with a lot of power going to them. I love their looks, head shaking bass capability's and durability.
I have 2 of these in my continetal with a Audiobahn 1000 watt amp and its pretty damn loud
You can't go wrong with Audiobahn no matter what product. As far as SPL it doesen't get any better than Audiobahn!
i had 2 in a box in a 97 grand prix gtp. i pushed it with a planet audio 400 watt amp. it too me awile to get my ears to stop hurting. so plan on headaches when u first get them. i am audiobahn sold. when i would pull up at any store i would rattle the hell out of the whole damn thing, and ppl would always come up to me and ask if i had 4 12's. they would just flex the fenders, it was awesome.

I HAVE A 87NISSAN 300ZX AND A PAIR OF AUDIOBAHN AW1200 SUBS AND THEY ARE GREAT. EVEN WHEN I BLEW ONE OF THEM WITH A AUTOTECH 500 WATT AMP. U CANT REALLY TELL ONLY WHEN I OPEN THE HATCH STILL PROUD OF MY SOUND SYSTEM.
I have 2 Auidobahn 12's in my 86'Blazer with a 450 Auidobahn amp and it is so loud that it hearts my friend's ear's. It is the best sound and is the best. I would recommend this to every one. The speaker has great power with it and never has bad sound. The amp is one of the best amp's i have ever used and the same with the speaker'
