Pros: Kids can drive their own cars, long driving time, nice scenery Cons: Long waits sometimes.
My kids love the idea of getting to drive and are pretty flexible on the type of car and even whether there is a track to guide them. Thus, of course, they love Autotopia. THE WAIT There are fastpasses available for this attraction. The wait here ...

Pros: A long ride, fun details, driver's licenses, kids drive themselves... Cons: A long, uninteresting line, exhaust fumes.
Our first day at Disneyland, "Autopia" was the first really long line we waited in. Towards the back of the Tomorrowland region of Disneyland, it's an extensive network of roadways for self-driven miniature cars. The line winds across a bridge and up ...

Speed Racer

Pros: Fun to ride around in. Cons: Long lines, but get a fast pass and don't worry.
I just got back from Disneyland and thought this ride was very cool. While you wait there are jokes and animated cars talking to you. And I even got a driver's license. The ride has a track so you can't go off, and I figure it was about 9 MPH. Highly recommended and get a Fast Pass so you don't have to wait.

Perfect for children starting at 3 years old
by Becca_J ,Oct 24 '04
Pros: Very entertaining, a chance for kids to do what they normally can't do. Cons: Very bumpy ride when kids steer the wheel.
The Autopia ride at Disneyland is perfect for children starting at the age of three years old. Anytime before that, children are prone to having fits in the middle of the ride. My child was not impressed by the ride when she was two years old. When she reached the age of three, she understood the concept and had fun with it. I was able to hand the wheel to her, and I controlled the pedal for speed. At that point, she has stated the Autopia ride is her most favorite ride. We visit Disneyland at least twice a year, since we have family in the Southern California region. This ride stands out to her, and is a "must visit" attraction. Just be cautious when it comes to the back and neck. If your children have an injury in this area, it is best to avoid it, assuming your child is controlling the steering wheel. It can be jerky. If your child is healthy, there should not be any problems.
