Pros: CHEAP, easily modified into a really great kegerator Cons: Doesn't work right out of the box. Needs several upgrades before you can actually use.
I paid $399 for my Avanti kegerator on closeout from Best Buy. I read all the reviews online for it, but for $399 I couldn't pass it up. That's $200 less than the Danby and $300 less than the Kenmore/Sanyo. (The stainless Kenmore/Sanyo is $400 more!) ...

Pros: I was smart enough to buy the extended warranty from Best Buy. Cons: Avanti makes crappy products, and their customer service sucks.

AVANTI BD6000
by grovesr ,Jan 04 '07
Pros: Looks Good Cons: Doesn't work good
Don't waste your time unless you only want a cooler for the weekend. The antiquated dial thermostat controller won't hold a consistent temperature and my keg froze 2 times. I have since returned the original unit (only 3 weeks old) to Best Buy. I had tried calling AVANTI service center, even left a message and they never returned my call. Best Buy took care of me and gave me another unit - I am now in the break in mode of this one. Hopefully the temperature will not swing from 41 degrees to 20 degrees - this is my second keg that I had to purchase now because the 1st one was frozen twice. Take the time and get a digitally controlled unit - I will very soon.
Well - the second Avanti has the same problem and goes back tomorrow. This one has an even worst temperature swing.
