Pros: Very predictable and stable traction. Great feedback and cornering. Solid year round performance. Cons: Somewhat bland looks for a performance tire.
Over the years I have learned a lot about what makes tires work well with cars. We have bought tires for our cars that were recommended by friends only to find out later that those tires did not fit our cars well. Several hundred dollars and some ...
Pros: Firm ride, good all-weather handling, good treadwear so far. Cons: Ride may be too stiff for some, not a fashion statement.
I bought 15-inch BF Goodrich Traction T/A H-rated tires for my VW Golf. I've had them for about 15,000 miles or so. Here are the highlights: Ride - firmer than my last set of tires (Goodyear Eagle), but not unpleasantly so. Definitely a more ...
Pros: Superb dry and wet handling and stability, low price for high performance Cons: None at this time.
After researching several all-season high-performance tires I finally decided to purchase the BF Goodrich Traction T/A H-rated tires (22560R16). Although as of right now I have put very few miles on them (about 250) I must say that so far I have been ...
Pros: Great cornering and OEM replacement on 03 Accord Cons: Flat spotting in cold weather (goes away shortly)
We put these on our 2003 Honda Accord to replace very expensive OEM Michelins (approx $750 at Sams Club). These were approx $350 installed by the local tire center chain. Here is how they compare to the OEM Michelins: -Road noise is about the same. ...
Pros: performance, H-rated tire with excellent wet and decent snow traction Cons: increasing noise with use, possibly some minor loss in MPG
I bought these to replace the terrible stock Goodyear Integrity tires that come with my brand new 2003 Toyota Corolla S. The integrities had not integrity and they squalled and spinned even on dry asphalt. But that is a different story. I ...
Pros: Good handling, good treadware, good price, and great traction. Cons: Basically none.
I've had these tires for over two years now, and I like them so much that I'm getting them for my wife's car.I have a 2003 5 Speed Honda Accord EX, and these tires provide exceptional traction. When I first started driving with them, the ...
Pros: When they are right they are the best. Cons: They claim a short supply and had to send for a special order.
I am having a problem with a dealer selling these claiming the bead protector is missing? It was supposed to be a new design? I just noticed another vehicle with my same problem. I have a bead offset of at least 1/8 bad from the edge of the rim. ...
Great Tires, for the most part. by jensma1 ,May 11 '09
Pros: Great handling, cornering, and wear. Cons: Dont handle hitting curbs, sidewalls tore on my left side tires from a curb.
I bought these tires about 18 months ago, and so far put 45,000 on these tires. I recently had Kumos on my S-10 Extreme, they were great but too expensive. So I went cheaper with these T/As, so far these are the best tires I have owned. Treadwear is great, I believe these tires will make 70,000 miles no problem. Traction in Michigan's snow is very good with about 500lbs. in the rear of my truck. In short these are great tires, but they may differ from one application to another. Safe travels with your T/As..
Great price for a quality tire by hoysay ,Nov 01 '06
Pros: Great price. Quiet. Solid handling. Cons: None so far.
I purchased these tires at Costco ($107/ea. installed) to replace the Toyo tires that came on my 2004 RAV4. The Toyos were decent until they hit 50,000 miles and then the noise was unbearable. What a difference the Traction TA H made! Very quiet with solid handling. I checked a lot of tire reviews before settling on these and I am very glad I did. Even if the tire life is a little less than I got with the Toyos, the price will make up for the difference. I have noticed a very slight drop in gas mileage since these were installed, but my mileage tends to drop a little in the cold weather, so I am not sure this is tire-related.
(Costco filled my tires with nitrogen, so I can't say this review would necessarily apply to those filled with air.)
Great handling and super traction by agaurav ,Jan 27 '07
Pros: Great performance, excellent handling on snow/slush Cons: None so far.
I got these recently for my 1999 Toyota Camry that had Goodyear Integrity on them. I didn't even know what I was missing so far in terms of performance. The Integrity used to skid even on dry road and were really poor on wet surfaces especially snow/ice. I am north of Boston and we did get snow/ice before this winter. This year we haven't had much snow so I can't say how well they will do but so far they have been great.
The noise is less, I feel and the car feels more under control and the ride quality is definitely better and comfortable. I got them them at Costco who did a decent job fitting them. Given how much we spend on gas, oil change, brakes, rotors, wipers, battery etc. I think we should do ourselves a favor and get better tires than we tend to.
I haven't found any negative so far. They do look quite ordinary but that sort of goes well with a Sedan. I wouldn't want white lettering on a camry but would of course want them on my Honda Pilot, for example.
I do not recommend these tires! by dgower2 ,Oct 25 '05
Pros: Good wet handling Cons: Wear out quickly.
These tires were rated 60k mile tires. I've had them for less than 30k miles and they need to be replaced already. Granted, I do drive hard, but 60k to 30k is drastic - I don't drive "that" hard. Wet traction was great for the first half of these tire's lives. Cornering was weak, I guess I need to move to a V rated tire.
Excellent Tire For Lincoln LS. by savednfs ,Jun 14 '08
Pros: Great cornering, Very good treadwear, Wet traction. Cons: None yet
I have put 1,000 miles on these tires and they are one of the best tires around. The road noise it less than the old Michelins I had before. These tires hang onto the road and dont let go. Cornering is quick and reliable. Plus the price is reasonable! These tires are just as good as Michelin, and cost less. I dont know why other people dont like these tires. All you Sprinted drivers, Get this tire and write a review on it.
Pros: Decent on wet pavement, tread wear seems OK after 15K. Cons: Noisy and flat-out dangerous on snow / slick surfaces.
Not bad for 3 seasons but horrible for any snow and mediocre on ice. I have 15K on them and tread wear seems decent but they are a bit noisy due to the aggressive pattern. Unfortunately I was willing to sacrifice noise assuming I would have better snow and slick traction...NOT!!! These are Horrible, Horrible and dangerously horrible on anything but dry or wet pavement.
Looking to replace with something like a snow tire due to dangerous nature. Does not work well on my 94 Integra FWD 5 speed. Maybe OK on a heavier vehicle but not on mine These were slipping on .25-.5" fresh snow while attempting to turn at crawling speed. I am horribly disappointed by the reviews that I read before purchasing this tire.
I recently purchased a set of 215/60-HR16 H speed rated BFGoodrich Traction T/A's for my 2000 Mercury Sable LS Premium in mid-January 2005.
Granted this has not be long enough to get a real feel for the performance of these tires so I plan on a re-visit after a few thousand miles have been put on them.
That being said I also have to add that shortly after these tires were installed we were just lucky enough to be able to drive them through 2 of the heaviest Northern New England snow storms to come through in recent memory which were kind enough to dump 6+ inches of the wonderful white stuff on us with each storm.
I have never been more confident driving this car then after these tires were installed. The Traction T/A's provide just that, TRACTION with a capital T, and in abundance through snow, slush, sleet, and all the other nasty winter stuff that gets thrown at us.
As stated earlier will return for an update after I've put some additional miles on them.
Pros: Great traction, quiet on the highway plus a 60,000 mile warranty Cons: None that I've found yet
I bought 4 of these tires for my 2002 Mustang GT with a size of 245/45/17. The BF Goodrich Traction T/A tires are quiet on the highway and have very good wet and dry traction. I don't have anything negative to say about them at this time and I am sure I will have better snow traction this winter, compared to my previous tires which were horrible in snow. These are good tires at a good price. I bought them from walmart.com. I will update this review if anything changes about them.
