Pros: Easy to use. Love the fax. Cons: Ink prices. Printing quality.
I bought my Brother Multi-Function Center 440CN a couple of years ago. It is the only piece of computer equipment I have that survived the moisture of Hurricane Ike which hit us hard with an 18’ surge four months ago. That ...
Pros: Copy, scan, fax, print conveniently; low cost printer cartridges; good price Cons: So-so picture prints; prints slower than claimed; 10 page sheet-feeder; 100 page paper tray
Time for a new printer I had been using a HP Deskjet photo printer (Deskjet 790c) for the last 5 years, and it recently started making an ugly grinding sound, so I figured it was time to second hand it to the kids and buy myself a new printer. I ...
Pros: Network printing, scanning, and faxing at a reasonable price with separate cartridges for each color. Cons: Paper jams, some mediocre paper feed issues, 4x6 tray is not useful.
Given that I have a Samsung laser that I use for everyday printouts, I needed something to do color. Also, I was sick of having to photocopy materials for work so I decided to get a unit that has a scanner with a document feeder. After a little ...
Pros: Superb scan and print quality at any level, whether photo or documents Cons: Supplied Scan/Print software
I must say I was very much skeptical about buying this unit after reading a couple of bad reviews on here but once it went on sale, it was an offer I could not refuse so I bit the bullet and got the unit and let me tell you friends, this ...
Pros: Versatile, good overall performance Cons: No handset to allow out of the box use as second phone, expensive ink replacement
In hindsight, I was crazy to buy another Brother product. The Brother MFC 440CN was purchased, in haste, as a replacement for a now deceased Brother Intellifax Printer/Fax machine. The Intellifax 1828C was horrible right out of the box, so I must ...
Pros: Small compact design with lots of features. Looks nice Cons: Frustrating to use. Cheats you with unnecessary ink consumption.
Worked good at first but then got some nasty surprises. Network functionality died after about a month and had the revert back to USB. I do computer consulting and repairs for a living, and I could not get it working again using the network connection. ...
Pros: For the Price print quality ok, and You get copier and scanner Cons: Cant print Black if any color ink is low, Ink Cost is High
Im used to using HP printing devices but this printer was a gift.It has good print quality for its price range but the operation of the controls on the front panel are not very user friendly. Its not going to set a speed record either, however for the ...
Pros: It was great while it worked. Cons: I had 2 die.
I actually bought 2 of these and they both died. I bought one last year and was initially pleased with it. And then the problems started. First, the networking died. I tried to reinstall it, but I couldn't get it to work, so I hooked it up with USB. ...
Pros: The ease of scanning, printing, faxing and copying. Cons: The not being able to use the machine if one ink is empty.
I enjoy Brother products. I have a typewriter from this company that is almost twenty years old and still works perfectly. I have used other printers before--Lexmark, Hewlett-Packard and Canon--but I have not enjoyed them as much as I enjoy this ...
Pros: Scans OK. Low up-front cost. Small footprint Cons: Customer Service is unacceptable. Uses too much ink. Expensive ink.
When I initially got it, it worked fine. At some point (within the warranty) it had a problem. After spending 3 hours on the phone with a robotic rep who had me perform the same cleaning function multiple times even though that was clearly not ...
Pros: Excellent all round printer, scanner, copier & fax Cons: Brother refills expensive but plenty cheap compatibles around
I have had this machine for two years and would not think of changing it. It is ideal as I have a small company and does everthing I need.Printer, fax, copier and scanner functions are easy to use.The network function is great. ...
Pros: Good scanner, copies OK. Cons: Slow, slow and quality of prints just so so.
I bought this printer on the recommendation of the OfficeMax salesman a week ago. It is very slow, printing 3 pages in 2 minutes, I am taking it back tomorrow.
Pros: easy to use Cons: Expensive on ink. Will not operate at all when runs out of ink.
Stay away from it unless you want to spend a lot of money on ink.
This Brother MFC cleans the nozzles automatically using ink even if you do not print anything. You may fit new ink cartridges, go on holiday for a month and when you return you may find no faxes printed out but at the same time no ink in the machine. If you run out of ink in any of the cartridges you cant even send a fax although that does not require any ink. This unit is design to make money for the manufacturer until its last day and not to serve you well.
Want to spend more money on ink you never use than on gasoline? Then maybe get this machine. As for the features, they're pretty good, up there with some more expensive machines. Not enough for me to overlook the $75 per month I have to spend on ink. Which wouldn't bother me if I actually used any of it. I've owned this all-in-one for 4 months now and it has NEVER been asked to use a drop of color ink. I bought it as a fax machine (B&W) with the color copying being a bonus in case I ever need it. Well I don't, but I still keep having to feed it color ink every month because it refuses to print ANYTHING unless ALL cartridges are installed and full of the precious liquid.
